Tried the macro/killing Tainted Rats theory for about 2 hours. Didn't even manage to get a Tainted Rat battle pet to spawn. Gave up and went over to Mount Hyjal for about an hour and then decided to check one more time around 6:30am on Wyrmrest Accord and there was one Minfernal there! Uncommon quality, super stoked :D

Edit: There were Tainted Rat critters everywhere when I found this spawn.

I spent a couple of days coming back everytime I finished a task (some archaeology, pet tamers etc) and felt like it was going to take me forever to find this. Just decided to sit on the island for 50 minutes again while waiting for reset and at 2:57am server time on Wyrmrest Accord it started raining!! Got a rare on my second try, very lucky and happy :D

Took me about 7 hours of farming Ebon Whelps in Wetlands but finally got this little guy to drop! All farming done in the early hours of the morning but I don't think that matters =P

Pretty stoked, I've had terrible luck with farming for whelplings so far until this guy. Got Bunny Hunter to help track how much I'd actually farmed and managed to get him to drop after about 528 kills. I farmed the oozlings and elementals at Frostfire Hot Springs. They respawn super fast. Good luck!
