Maybe it's not easy being green, but I love it anyway.
If you're farming elemental battle stones, this is definitely the place to be. Nowhere else has a good number of high-level elementals.
I upgraded all my Deepholm pets to rare in an incredibly short rampage - including this one. Rares in Deepholm seem as common as Uncommons elsewhere. (Or did that sentence get too confusing?)
They were a little thin on the ground in the early days, but now there are lots around the inn. I upgraded my uncommon to rare without running out of them, and more recently took a party of young pets there to be levelled while I farmed a magic battle stone. Took a lot of dead Wisps, but now I have upgraded my Magic Lamp.
I think of it as a candle, and want to group it with my Lofty Librum and (maybe) Winter Reindeer. Bell, book and candle...
Unless anyone can suggest a better pet to rep a bell?
I'm still not convinced that killing other stuff helps with pets - it's never given me a new spawn. So after many visits to the Dalaran crater I finally captured my rare Lofty Libram. Or, as I prefer to call it, The Necronomicon. It's a bonny fighter, but even if it were not, who could resist the only battle pet in the game that nests on a bookshelf?
I've never entered the cave without finding it packed full of these guys. Took about three clearances to get a rare (I like oozes and snails) but the effort was worth it. The thing is a doughty little fighter.
I didn't have any trouble capturing an Uncommon, but there only seem to be five or six in the zone at a time, so it took a lot of visits to upgrade to a rare. He's a mediuym-good fighter, but so impressive, bigger than some hunter-pets. I love Geoff the Giraffe!
I'm jealous of you people who got a rare first time. I cleaned out the zone about five times before a rare popped for me. I think that's the most battles I've needed to get a rare of anything, but he's worth it. He tanks like a Stunted Shardhorn: soaks up damage while he dishes it out.
Yes, he's big, but a Giraffe Calf is much taller, though less bulky.
I wanted the Darkness this guy casts badly enough to create and level a Worgen. Now all I need is a stone to make my Gilnean rare, and I'll be a happy collector.
I've been scouring Darkmoon Faire for a rare Raven, but nothing better than Common so far. One day...
After hours wandering around the wrong cave, I finally found these little guys. I had to come back a couple of times before I got a rare, but it was worth it. This is a tough dude, and such a cute one!
Been trying to grow this tunip for a couple of months, without success. Bought one on the AH today, for a mere 144g. Levelling it like mad, to take full advantage of its wonderful Weakening Blow.
[Edit] Got him to 25 in one day. Now I can use a high-level group to capture a low level rare, which saves so much time.
Anyone know times of the Festival on EU servers? Certainly nothing at 2100 or 2300 (server time) this Sunday.
December 21st is not the first day of winter. It is the winter solstice, i.e. the shortest day of the year.
Yesterday upon the wing
I sought an owl who wasn't there.
It wasn't there again today,
I wish that owl would come to play.
I found a dozen or so, scattered along the sandy strip along the coast, from end to end of Darkshore. No rare yet, but I'll be back - I want a trio of snails.
I can't resist levelling weird pets like the shimmering Lost of Lordaeron (I'm Alliance) and the almost-my-height Giraffe Calf. Not to mention loads of slimes and snails.
So nice to read from other people who aren't only trying to hone their battle-groups, but have other ambitions.
