Glad I didn't try for it much before they fixed the spawn rate. I logged in on my Brazilian server character and saw three. I was so excited! Nabbed one, then read about the spawn rate fix. Oh well, lol. Got it!
Fished up after 7 hours and 10 minutes of fishing (over a week), getting about 150 fish an hour. Made lots of money in the process! ;) Summer Fields in Vale of Eternal Blossoms, [71,46] coordinates, using weather-beaten fishing hat and Kalu'ak pole, maxed skill, 710 with bonuses, in Jewel Danio pool. Fished up along with a Jewel Danio. Item name was white; I was expecting blue.

Got this in the bag from the Whispering spirit the first time fighting him after the initial quest chain. Got the water one the same way, and chose the fire one from the quest. 3 in one day! Woot!

I didn't even know this existed till I got it tonight! From Stone Cold Trixxy in Winterspring. I've been doing my pet dailies every day since the new year, so I'd say it took me around a month.
Upgraded mine with a battlestone a couple weeks ago. Just found a rare today. Dammit. Well, now I have two rares. Yay? All I ever saw before was poor. The rare shocked me.
Husband and I created DK toons on a Brazilian server with a low pop (we're in the US). Leveled them up to 58 while doing the quests to get out of the starting area. Went to Felwood, husband killed battle pets in the zone while I camped the minfernal spot. It spawned after only 15 min. Poor, but I upgraded him with a battle stone. We switched places but it didn't spawn again after 30-45 min. of trying. We'll try to get his another night. Great strategy!
Obviously they're easy peasy to get, but it took me forever to find a rare. Got one after 3 days, then two more in the next hour, lol. Great place to level pets. So very many wavelings, you just keep switching in new pets and fighting.
I just kept circling the area, then popping over to Icecrown to look for the Scourged Whelpling. After about an hour I happened upon a snowy area in Stormpeaks and found a rare fox! Super luck. :)
How the heck am I supposed to get these if they're both Alliance towns???
EDIT: Never mind, got it as a secondary in a battle. Woot. :)
Hubby happened to find his no problem and felt bad, so he helped me farm. We flew around Southern Barrens killing every battle pet we saw. I don't know if that's what did it, but it finally spawned in an area we'd just cleared out, 5 min. before I was going to give up for the night. Poor, but don't care! A nelf was stalking the area too. Haha! Mine!
YES!!! HOURS spent farming this thing, not finding a single one, always surrounded by others trying to do the same...fly over tonight at about 7:20pm server time and it's just sitting there. And it's a RARE! MINE!

Having NO luck, and keep getting shot down by overzealous gnome guards. I've died 3 times. >:(
Oh Pandaria. So many pets. I got all of the achievement ones before I even hit level 90!
