Just returned to the game after a 4 year break, and decided to farm this guy while exploring Shadowmoon Valley. It dropped in less than 10 kills and a second pet dropped immediately after the first. It was a Monday night, very late, around 1 am, and no one was around. Not sure if the time/day makes a difference, but there it is. Terrokar realm. Happy hunting!

The flying up and using the glider technique is wonderful! I found an uncommon by the red lake next to Rolo's treasure chest yesterday. I have the goblin glider (cloak tinker) as an engineer, but the golden gliders have no cooldown, so you can use them repeatedly, in case you miss your targeted landing.

Got one yesterday while my husband was showing me around the cavern. He let me NEED on it, cause he's awesome like that. I knew he really wanted one too, so I went out on another toon and realm (lower pop) to try my luck today. Got one on the first kill. Lower population realms may take more time to get the rares down (unless people are grouping), but great for pet hunting!

After numerous attempts on multiple servers to find one of these, I took the adivce of so many here and made a DK on Gallywix (Brazil). Flew to to Felwood and my heart sank when I saw 5 other people camping the pools. Rode up to the NE and there was a Minfernal, all by himself at 45.71, 42.52, by the mountains. Caught him (Green, no less) with a terrible turnip, got my Zookeeper title and hearthed! TY to all who suggested Gallywix - it worked!!! This was at 1:25pm PST.

My server has been VERY crowded with people looking for these, and today I logged into an alt parked there and found one to the right of the stone between the stairs and the wall. I beat another player to it by mere seconds, because he was in a helicopter and was struggling to target, while I was on my disc from Lorewakers (and SLOW flying). It was grey, but I had a stone in the bank so I hearthed and am THRILLED! Now back to the mind-numbingly elusive Minfernal...

Been looking for one of these since they came out. A week ago a I found in Zul'Drak at the spawn point NE of Ebon Watch. NO campers! Forgot which pets I had active and accidently killed her. Been flying by ever since and found another in the SAME spot last night at 1:34am realm time, Terokkar, US. and caught her. This seems to be one of the spawn points not camped by several people. Had a battle-stone saved for her. Highly recommend checking this spot now and then!!

Got mine last night! Love that he does the Tidewalker animation (popping the fart bubble and waving away a green cloud of stench).

Finally caught one, this past Sunday around 8-9pm server. I was waiting for a friend in Dalaran, and decided to fly over Sindragosa's Fall to see if by chance there were any around. Saw one paw. Grey, but lovely all the same! Found another this morning at 11:38am server, and was uncommon. Killed him by accident so I forfeited the others. He reappeared at full health! Caught him and looted an Undead battlestone for him at the end. Hope the times help, check often!

Thanks so much for the suggestion of rolling a gnome to find this little guy! After  searching daily for a couple of weeks, I rolled a gnome one of my other servers yesterday afternoon and POOF! There were two right in front of me before I took the first quest. Also a couple of Fluxfire Felines. Grabbed the first roach and caught him (grey), which got my EK Safari achiev. Had a Flawless Critter stone in the bank, just waiting for him. Happy hunting!

Totally 'cheated' on this guy and bought him off the AH when someone had him up super cheap - 2400g as opposed to the usual 10k+. He is one of my favorites! Just a suggestion as an alternative to or along with farming, check the AH regularly.  My husband laughed when I spent the money, but after kicking his butt in pvp battles, he wants one now. Keeping an eye on the AH hoping to lucky again. Happy hunting (or shopping)!

Stumbled upon this purely by accident when out looking for battle pets in the area. Caught a rare on the second one! I showed it to a friend and she wanted one, so we went back the next afternoon. None around, so we started killing off the non-bp critters in the Dry Hills, and a few Harpies. Within about 10 min, 5 spawned. She was able to catch an uncommon, and others in the area were happy to grab one too!

Followed the suggestions of clearing/battling other bps in the areas and it worked. On a toon that just started questing the zone, I flew around and battled spiders and roaches and one finally spawned at the devouring breach (turned out to be a rare). Thanks for the tip - there's none to be seen, start battling the spiders and roaches in the Twilight areas. This was about 8pm server time, Terokkar.

I was looking for this lil guy for a couple of weeks, flying around the zone. One evening I was flying low near Desolation Hold and one literally ran into me as he materialized. He was gray but I was thrilled to have one! An hour later after non stop battles I looted a flawless beast battle-stone and made him a rare. I have no advice to give other than when flying, stay low :)

After reading the comments, I flew to Skald and found a bunch spawned there around 2-4pm server time, Terokkar. First one I clicked to battle was a rare! caught him and left the rest for other people. I am glad I read about his feign death move - it threw me off! A great dps pet against critters, and a good choice to capturing others as he can take a lot of hits while you're waiting for your trap to work.
