I spent about 20 minutes looking for this pet. None were spawning in the snowy area so, I searched by the Dalaran Crater - as many had suggested - to no avail. One finally spawned in the northern part of the snowy area just southeast of the cave below "The Uplands". Hope this helps, good luck!

I saw two near the water SE of Auchindoun. Other than that, they're pretty scarce. Hope this helps!

I searched for some time before I finally found this guy in Evermorn Springs. There was only one and I have yet to see them as battle pets anywhere else. He was also poor but, I plan to upgrade with a stone.

Spawned today in the early AM around 2 and 2:30. 2 uncommons, no rares.

Came to Felwood looking for Minfernal to complete the safari achievement. I had no idea of its rarity. But, I came around 3:30am server time, no one was around and found 2. They were both poor. Look when no one else is looking is my suggestion!

How does this pet compare to the Unborn Val'kyr?

I happened upon my Unborn Val'kyr one day in the Borean Tundra. I was out questing and noticed it was a pet I had never seen. I haven't seen one since. It was poor but I used a stone to upgrade it to rare. Also, it was a level 20 but was weakened to 19 by being caught.
