I was starting to think these didn't exist, but last night I found a common one and it killed it's self on me. I had a heart attack. Logged on today at 1:05 central time and found a uncommon one under Skorn in Howling Fjord. The ones I did find weren't exactly where they show on the maps, both were a little off for me, so fly around a little bit and you'll find one. :)

Just caught mine, spawned on the steps leading up to AQ40. I tried on about 5 different servers that I had my regular toons on, then I did the Latin America servers as a dk thing. It's 12:20am server time, central time. All I did was keep killing the critters. Everyone kept saying that they could spawn in their place. They don't spawn inside and they are not a secondary pet. So GL!
