Finally grabbed a H/S rare at 35:54 in Kun-Lai Summit, right near where Kali is for the Beasts of Fable achievement.  Took me about 90 minutes of searching.  Don't give up!  :)  They're out there!

Finally popped this mini-peafowl to 25 and I must say, I'm very impressed with the skillset.  Very steady in the DPS department and with Drain Blood I can certainly see a pair of these being an excellent leveling team.  The cooldown seems just right to keep them alive and fighting to wear down higher-level opponents for a swift one-shot by the pet you're trying to level.

Working on leveling this little guy up;  so far, I'm still laughing at the Diablo equipment spill he does when he dies...and although I can't explain it, I'm fascinated by the fact that he's a lefty.  LOL   (Watch his idle animations and you'll see what I mean.  ::wink:: )

I just finished the 5-continent grind with my warrior in order to buy the Feline Familiar and Widget the Departed, but I read your comment and decided to test the theory for myself.  Lo and behold, logged on with my hunter and he's off to the races around Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms to bag Cursed Birman too!

It would seem the gods at Blizzard decided to change things up a bit!  :)

Bought this one tonight;  confirmed;  cannot battle and shows up in the pet journal with its name in standard WoW-gold lettering.

Very interesting occurence I thought I'd share, discovered while I was looking to tame one of these;  if two opposing pets have an underground avoid and use it at the same time (ie, the Water Snake's  "Burrow"...and the Shimmershell's  "Dive"), the combat round will continue as if nothing happened!

My snake burrowed, the snail dove, and the snake moved in for a normal attack! Could come in handy...and it makes me wonder if the airborne versions are the same!

Confirmed that this is not only still working, but it's possible to pick up all three of your allowed chickens with a single act of idiocy!  :)

Did this with my 37 Undead rogue;  bought three of the special feed from William Saldean in Brill, found the ONE chicken in the graveyard, macro-chicken'd it for about 10 minutes, and repeatedly accepted/completed the quest until I ran out of feed.  Grabbed all three eggs from the ground and voila!  Westfall Chicken.

Found a Common one of these tonight in the general area of 48.0 - 77.0

I can confirm what many of the other posts say;  they are definitely few and far between!  If you don't have a flying mount, I would recommend leaving this one for later or just enjoy the thought that you might happen across one while leveling a young character.  :)

A really good tip is to look for a kneeling human named "Stinky" Ignatz.  The nest is under a tree right behind him.   Happy hunting!

After reading over the comments here, I had to go to SoS anyway for the Eastern Kingdoms master trainer quest.  I was wandering around  53:47  just killing the oozes there...and on about the 15th kill, got the bag, and inside was the 'ling!

Glad to check this little sucker off my list early.  Frees up more time to farm the dragon hatchlings.  Ugh.   Good luck all!!!   :)
