I've been using a L25 green to level my other pets... really strong with few exceptions (except moths - I hate moths). Surprised to find a rare as an add in Ashenvale, but reading here seems it's not unusual. Happy to find him tho!

Who knows if anything helps spawning... I was switching between Azuremyst and Zuluhed servers, killing Thundering Exiles out of boredom (and the occasional raptor) and no luck... came back to Azuremyst and it was raining ... there was one TT and it was a rare. So was it wholesale slaughter? Rainy conditions? Who knows! ;)

Logged on 10:10 server time Zuluhed and it was raining! Baby Apes everywhere, but also the bonobos, who seemed way more aggressive than usual. Had to take out four of them, then caught my Baby Ape, who was unfortunately a grey. Went to try another, and the rain stopped; by 10:13 the sun was shining and nary a little one to be seen anywhere.

Sometimes you just get lucky! First time looking for this pet, walked into the cave at 6:45 am server time, there were a few around. Picked one, and a minute later I was on my way out the door with a rare! :)
