Not only will he have a little heart when you summon the Dread Raven mount, when other players summon their own Dread Raven mount he will run over to them with a little heart.  Apparently he will run quite a ways!  :D

This cute little guy does seem to have an animation..  when I was mounted, it started to run circles around my mount! 

 

I'm going to keep him out for awhile to confirm this behaviour, that it wasn't just my imagination  :).
