I have been collecting pets since the Burning Crusade, when I was a wee levelling noob (now I am a max level noob) and a pirate in Southern Stranglethorn was kind enough to drop a purple parrot for me : Hyacinth Macaw was my very first ever pet and I was hooked. I don't think I would have played the game for as long as I did, and met so many wonderful people if it weren't for that selfless dead pirate! Of course, back then there weren't quite so many pets, and you couldn't learn them like you can now... but WarcraftPets.com was here! Through this site I learnt all about pets and all the joys they bring and began a very large collection, that took up all of my bank space.

The highlight of my pet collecting (after my first pet) was when I went to the London release party for Wrath of the Lich King in 2008 where I won a photo contest, the prize being Gurky. To this date I have yet to meet anyone else with one on my realm, although I have met my fair share of fellow petaholics! Once pets became a learnable thing there was no limit!

Unfortunately, when Mists of Pandaria rolled around I stopped pet collecting as I did not want to battle my beloved pets who had been innocent spectators to all of azeroth's horrors by my side. My companions were NOT pokemon, but eventually with the addition of Unborn Val'kyr to the game I could not resist, and levelled a formidable army to catch one (which I did). I wish it wasn't so addictive and so rewarding, because now I have been pet-battling multiple times a day every day to catch em all... 

... so here I am again. Very glad to be back to WarcraftPets.com after a hiatus from the site :)
