Spent 50k on a Dragon Kite after seeing it on the AH. zero regrets. i may have 12 gold left, but... at least i'm not participating in TCG. should be close to 550 pets if i can get a break on some of the TI rares.

About Toliman:
Primarily a Collector, though i never really put much into it. Sometimes i'll buy the rarer pets, collect them when i can, help guildies with pet collecting, and give advice for the rarer ones i've farmed before.
When i can, i try to farm the Crawling Claw (200+ solves), Tiny Red Carp, Sumprush Rodent, Stunted Direhorn,and the Crimson Whelpling, in that order. There's also a lot of the TI pets i don't have yet. So far, i'm nearly at 550, but i'm in no rush on the exceptional ones, and i'm not a fan of PvP or the battle system. it seems deranged, but i only tried it out early on.
If i had one pet i'd like to "find" it would be the Ethereal Soul-Trader, but those are in the $200+ range on ebay.
I sort of gave up on the levelling/competition/PvP of Battle Pets after 5.2, when they added in the Fable Pets and the Challenge Mode Trainers/Celestials/Dailies. Patch 5.3 and 5.4 have been kind of sad reminders that "blizzard" vs "collectors" is an issue that won't clear itself.
Still a collector, and if i ever get the bug again, i will pick up the special breed types for some of the rarer Uncommon/Rare types, like the Minfernal or the Flayer Youngling, Unborn Val'kyr, et. al. Much easier than the effort needed to get the Rare upgrade stones from the Celestial Tournament each week. Sigh.
I believe i can precisely measure the exact time i stopped caring about the pet battle system, it was when they added Longest Day to the achievement list in 5.3, and was not prepared for the 50% buff for the fable pets, and spent 8 hours in Pandaria trying to clear the Fable Pets with < 1 hour to spare.
Not Fun.
