Normally when I go hunting for specifics, I will enter battle, check the stats, and then surrender. If there was a pet there I wanted I will then heal up and re-enter the fight, otherwise i will move on and leave it. If I am trying to force a specific spawn I enter into with intent to take them out ...

My Doom Bloom, Worg Pup, and my Ominous Flame have all gotten taken out to explore Draenor, and have joined the elite lvl 25's. Go ahead...

It's all going to come down to rng. I have 3 mines(1 of each level) and 2 gardens. I have gone weeks without a single goren attacking me. Last night, on one character, I have 9 podlings attack and 5 goren attack, none of which had either pet.
