I took a break from doing these up until about 2 weeks ago where I started to use them as a means of leveling my 90s up without having to quest in draenor too much. I haven't run into this issue at all.

I use the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling for 3 of the trainers, so I would recommend it.

Yes they count for the 500 to get the level 3 pet building, but they apparently do not count for the 2000 needed for the garrison monument

I am sure it is the same as the bags from pandaria tamers, you can make a nice chunk of change from the extra pets especially this early, that or check the trading forum and see what you can add to your collection

Is it possible to win Eye of Observation if you lose the first time? I know some of those mobs when they drop their loot the 620 armor for example, if you lose, you will not have a chance at getting that loot again. Is it the same for the pet? Or can you win the pet multiple times on one character?...

Have you dropped it yet? considering this is 3 hours late I would assume so

I use Sunreaver Micro-Sentry, Clockwork Gnome, and Lesser Voidwalker. Typically kill it before I am forced to bring out my VW.
