I have read posts of people saying they have fishing up mulitple carps of the same color.

Haven't seen it myself, but I haven't tried for the same color either.

Aww, I kinda like the pain it takes to get these, it means that the person is dedicated to both fishing and pet collecting. Makes them neat unique things.

Oh well, they should be worth a bit.

As of right now the general high end number of pets is in the 530-540 range, so I think the 650 cap will stay for now. 5.3 isn't adding a huge amount of pets, and I doubt they will throw a huge amount in for 5.4 either. More then likely next expansion we will see the cap rise, since brand new zones ...

I don't think it would be too hard come 5.3, they are adding a lot of consumable +XX% Pet Battle Exp items. Those combined with the hat should make leveling quite easy.

I think Epic Pets will battle, but it will be different to raise them to Epic (Since stoneing 500+ pets would be freakin insane) I would be fine with something along the lines of all rare battle pets gaining access to another 5 levels, then at 30 instead of gaining a new skill they become Epic and h...

Killing them will cause new pets to respawn, and is a known method to force certain pets to pop.

I just ask, from one pet hunter to another, you be mindful of any others in the area looking for pets
