Time investment wise it is better now to catch wild pets any rarity (just look for breed that's OK with you) and just stone it to rare. There is absolutely no reason to grind a pet til a rare appears anymore outside of just being a purist.

As a general rule of thumb content becomes solo able by most classes/skill levels at the next expac level cap.

I upgrade to rare by family; I level by current level working on all the ones above 20 first. The exception is a pet needed for a fight.

I just use the standard Emerald Proto and it solos all of them. Keep skin up use dream when under 50%. In the odd case it dies carry a good backup like the Flayer.

Even though this case it was an elemental, I dont think Ive ever had Arcane storms actually do anything It has never prevented a root and as far as I can tell does nothing for Mana Surge
