I think I would try it again if you can win the fight by just using 2 out of the 3 pets or somehow have one of your lvl 25 pets die right at the end of the fight you will get much more exp from the battle.

Thanks for sharing this info the one thing I do to help with this proble is I have 5 ot 6 teams of the same level ready to battle that way I can rotate them to save my bandages and healing from low health and death.
