Need new tough challenges in pve pet battles
I just thought i'd float a topic and see if there was other interest: After collecting all of the wild pets, the thing that most appeals to me about pet battles is the strategy around 2v3-ing the bag trainers in order to level a lowbie. It is reasonably hard to accomplish with several of the trainer...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
i guess you are going for 2 1 1? (leech life, sticky web, magma wave) Nope, [2,2,1] leech, cauterize, magma wave. Keep yourself topped off while he's hitting you with ravage, and magma wave all the rest of the time. You get 3 rounds with him napping, so you have plenty of chance to heal back up and...

all 4 are faster than him. I am currently using an S/B, but I have a P/S (the highest power one) waiting for a beast stone.Ril wrote:so what breed of molten hatchling are you guys using on payne? S/S or P/S i guess?
The only difference should be how many rounds the fight goes.

Re: Ez-Mode Guide to defeat the Legendary pets
There's no need to have separate teams for each Legendary pet/type. All you need is one team with these three abilities: - Sunlight or Illuminate - Life Exchange - Predatory Strike or Trample Use them in this order, watch the health melt away. RATIONALE: Sunny weather increases max health from ~4,0...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
So what is a reliable post-5.2 two-pet team for Obalis? Everything else seems to work fine. One shot everything. But Obalis is tearing me apart - I tried the usual Infinite/Anubisath; Emerald Proto/Anubisath; Clockwork/Proto; etc. It took 30 minutes of trying different teams to finally get lucky ag...

Re: Major Payne
Major Payne's pets are now Epic (purple) instead of Rare. They have approximately the same stats and they seem to also have approximately the same RNG, but they give you a bit more XP than before.

not sure what kind of pop your server has, but I would put that upon Kel'Thuzad for 50,000 gold at least.

PetBattle Teams not swapping pet teams
Until the "PetBattle Teams" add-on maintainer releases an update, his add-on isn't successfully swapping teams when you click on a new team. I have 50 odd teams for various tasks and swap among them at will because they stay in their slots and with their chosen abilities... What are others using for...

Re: Tricks to fast leveling
On a related note, does anyone have an efficient way to top off your level 24 pets? I usually level pets with tamers, but once they're level 24 then a tamer gives way more XP than is needed to ding 25, which seems wasteful. I tried taking teams of 3 lvl 24s versus critters in Vo4W or hidden stair, ...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to trainer daily pet battles for 5
I'm a little late but here's what typically happens for me: You want Grizzle, so Sweep if it's not. Wind-Up, and then usually Batter til dead. If too many Batters miss, you might have to finish Grizzle with Wind-Up before he can get his last tick of Hibernate, but try to save the Wind-Up. You're go...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to tamer daily pet battles for 5.2
One question: Have you tailored your teams in a way that demands a certain tamer pet to start first, or do these teams work just as well no matter which pet you face first? I have answered on the go, and might be digressing a bit. But I think that should be ok since you asked to “compare notes” imp...

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to trainer daily pet battles for 5
Does your rabbit actually manage to kill Grizzle? Perhaps an extra hit from Flurry is sufficient? Definately. During the long test where I was trying to figure out whether there was a pattern to his decision to Bash or not, I had to pass multiple times to make sure he made it to hibernate. Its the ...

Throwing up my current lineups where they differ so we can compare notes: For Aki: Lil' XT, carry pet, Bat P/P stormlash is the only trainer that uses call lightning, so heartbreak + tympanic tantrum do massive damage. Most effective when Aki starts with stormlash. Bat uses [1,1,1] and wrecks both c...

seems like Cata, Roll, Cata delivers 2472 damage. Not quite yellow moth numbers, but very close.Deepfriedegg wrote: [pet]Lil' Deathwing[/pet] (if you have an access to it):
Roll hits for 189, Cataclysm hits for 1272 and then Tail Sweep hits for 707.
2168 dmg dealt.

Re: MGTTDPB 5.2: My guide to trainer daily pet battles for 5
Definitely this. Try Enchanted Broom (Batter/Sweep/Wind-Up) and Phoenix Hatchling (Burn/Cauterize/Immolation). If you don't start against Grizzle, you can Sweep to get him, then Wind-Up Batter Batter Wind-Up him. Phoenix can handle the mechanopeep and the flower, since being faster nerfs their mult...

One thing about Major Payne is that his is a team that really punishes you for being slower than him. Definitely this. Try Enchanted Broom (Batter/Sweep/Wind-Up) and Phoenix Hatchling (Burn/Cauterize/Immolation). If you don't start against Grizzle, you can Sweep to get him, then Wind-Up Batter Batt...

I would add a few pets to your list Gendou: an Emerald Proto Whelp P/P, Flayer Youngling, P/P, and two that only come in uncommon - Yellow Moth P/P that you upgrade to rare, and a Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling that you upgrade to rare. Emerald Proto Whelp is awesome versus flyers and anything that ...
