Re: Pet battle Declines and Insta-flees
I usually leave instantly when I see someone using Graves ... be more original people ... seriously. I won't even waste my time. Have your easy win .. that's all you want anyway. But this would only encourage them to continue that. :P And he isn't unbeatable, especially when he has a pretty bad bac...

Re: thoughts on murkidan
Murkidan looks like a bad version of Fiendish Imp. Similar moves, but much slower, and Nether Gate is best with high speed. I guess you could configure it with Eye Beam, Immolation, and Murkmorphosis, which would be a ton of damage. But that would require two rounds of setup on a fairly slow pet, an...

Re: ever find that one team...?
152 round loss in my first day returning to PvP pet battles in WoD...excellent reminder of why it had been months since I wasted my time with this debacle of a game. Not sure what teams were involved, but using higher damage pets should help avoid games like that. If everything on your team can con...

Re: Most underrated and overrated pets.
Qiraji Guardling s/s is underrated. Sandstorm counters AoE teams, and it gets hit less than Anubisath Idol because it can stun before activating Sandstorm. Very good against what seems popular right now, even with the drawback of having to deal with undead pets.

Re: ever find that one team...?
I've gotten about halfway to my 5k achievement with: S/S Qiraji Guardling (Crush, Sandstorm, Blackout Kick) Magic Lamp (Arcane Blast, Sear Magic, Wish) P/S Flamering Moth (Burn, Healing Flame, Moth Dust) It's basically Sandstorm/Wish, but with more control than the Anub/Crawdad version due to the hi...

Re: LF help to defeat specific Sethe team
Sandstorm should be good against this team. I'd suggest an S/S Qiraji Guardling over Anubisath Idol, since due to Blackout Kick it only has to get hit once to swap in and activate Sandstorm. Just pair it with something that can out-damage the Son of Sethe's healing - big damage or an aquatic - and y...

Re: Blossoming Ancient
Pair it with an S/S Crow. Crow will hose aquatics, which are a problem for Blossoming Ancient, and will also help prevent the other team's healers from taking advantage of your Sunlight. Darkness doesn't reduce HoT ticks on Blossoming Ancient, either, beyond removing the Sunlight bonus.

Re: Overlooked awesome pets
Magic Lamp. It's not quite as strong as it was a few months ago, now that Unborn Val'kyr got nerfed, but the combination of a cleanse and a big heal still destroys a lot of random teams. It also hits reasonably hard - Arcane Blast tops out at 370 damage - and is reasonably fast.

Re: Swapping is Boring
Teams designed to use Wish, and healing teams in general, can also often handle the cost of swapping. IMO the interesting part of swapping is how swaps interact with abilities with longer CDs. You can't avoid losing a turn from swapping, but if you use swaps to maximize use of a bunch of strong abil...

Re: Valk/gluth/???
I ran in to Valk/Stitched Pup/Murkalot a few times tonight. Went 1-1 with S/S Qiraji Guardling, Magic Lamp, and Flamering Moth, then chased him away with a Magical Crawdad. The comp seemed pretty strong, but not that much worse than Valk/DAH/X. Also, it's pretty easy to hose with a crab.

Re: Help me PvP
I see well I don't really mind which pets I use I just want to play a strong team to try get 5 wins in a row :) Atm I'm using fiendish imp, death adder, spirit crab from that site and I think i have about a 50/50 win just looking to try and up that. Maybe 'm just not playing correctly but I'd appre...

Re: Beating strong triple-comps
My favorite is a Lava Crab with Burn, Cauterize, and Magma Wave vs. triple mechanical teams, especially 3x Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling. It also does pretty well vs. triple darkness thanks to the elemental racial.

Anubisath Idol's Sandstorm hits for 370 and S/S Qiraji Guardling's hits for 350.Genome wrote: when applying it the caster is also getting a 400-500 dmg hit in as well, which makes it a bit OP to me.

Re: A o E oh My
With all of the new AoE power strikes coming, it would be nice to see some more AoE defensive abilities to balance them out. Totally agree. All we really have right now is Sandstorm, which is found on like 3-4 PvP viable pets, and team heals, which are generally awful. IMO AoE should be a smaller p...

Re: Unborn corpses really?!
Are you sure the corpse created by Haunt sticks around even after the Valk'yr returns to life? The corpse doesn't stay when the haunt ends but it counts as a corpse when it's there. So, say I have pet with sear magic and it haunts. It's counted as dead then, right? And they gets a free pet swap bec...

Re: Unborn corpses really?!
Each time it haunts, the corpse is considered a new corpse and thus is able to be consumed. Wouldn't I want to make certain that it's in haunt as long as possible? Seeing as there's only so many blocks to preventing a haunt and haunt itself doesn't have a CD. Every successful haunt is considered a ...

Re: Unborn corpses really?!
If you Sear Magic the Haunt, then the Valk'yr won't be dead anymore so Consume Corpse shouldn't work.
Also, some of the more durable pets with Arcane Blast, e.g. Restless Shadeling, should be able to put a big dent in Dread Hatchling even through Consume Corpse.

What do you mean? It's easy enough to avoid using Sear Magic then Wish back to back.Kendrah wrote:And you get the added bonus of confounding people when you dispel your pet. That's worth it, if nothing else. XDMaleric wrote:Pets with dispels, like Sear Magic, are also good against it.

Re: LF advice for PVP pet battles
An easy counter to Unborn Valk'yr is an aquatic with a heal and/or shell shield. Pets with dispels, like Sear Magic, are also good against it.Yukio wrote:And on day 3 I have to ask.....
How do you deal with the Unborn Valk?
On my team I've been using a Magic Lamp with Sear Magic and Wish to counter Valks.

Re: LF advice for PVP pet battles
The problem with using powerful and popular pets like DAH and Unborn Val'kyr is that good opponents are likely to know how to beat them because they've seen them so much. It's still probably easiest to use pets like that when you first start PvP pet battles. But at some point, maybe after a few hund...
