Some players have this bug for an unknown reason - if you HAVE DONE the basic tutorials from the pet teacher, culminating in being contacted by the Pet Trainer in your capital city, but DO NOT recieve the "Battle your first Trainer" tamer quests from them, contact a GM in-game and have them manually...
