Best way I've found to get battlestones is to do the dailies that give loot bags. Trixie in Winterspring and Lady Acoste in Deadwind Pass are a good way to level pets and get stones.

How about a snowflake pet, named Snowflake (original huh), similar to the wisp but it could do frost damage
