I just wanted to update saying I DID get the guardian cub and I am totally in love. His different animations are SO cute, and he really fits well with my gnome shadow priest main. :) I haven't battled since I got him, so I can't say anything on that, but just as a buddy, he is definitely my favorite...

I just wanted to update that despite Blizzard having a "too bad, so sad" stance on the issue at first, a GM did restore the Egbert I purchased when I submitted a new ticket. If you've contacted Blizzard and they told you to just wait for the fix, I would try submitting a ticket for restoration now.
