The way I understood it from the last few times, is that they'll still accept your money, and you still get the rewards, even as the event is running... Of course, then you're just buying the pet outright. lol

The BoE Flawless Battle-Stone is even easier. All you have to do is create a character on their server, and they can trade it to you as normal. You just have to use it on that server, though. Shouldn't be a big deal.

The main idea is that they found a low population battlegroup, and then transferred a high level character there to make it easier to not die when hunting in the higher level zones.
