Re: Question about what pet you use the ultimate battle ston
There are two approaches that I would recommend: 1) Save it! I would use this stone when I know more about pet battles. Knowledge is power. At some point you might think 'I wish a had this pet at level 25'. 2) Aim for efficiency. You could use it on a Zandalari Anklerender, Panther Cub, Darkmoon Cub...

Re: The future and direction of pet battling in WOW
I am really happy with the changes to the Garrison. I personally found the difficulty of the garrison to be absurd. I kept wondering what Blizzard decision making process could have been. It simply made no sense to me. The garrison content seems made around 1 thing: accessibility. The main exception...

Re: What breed?? WoD Edition
I've used the Wasps in all 4 breeds. I generally used them for PvP (Bite/Flying Move/Puncture Wounds). I would say that I prefer P/B, S/B is a close second. There isn't a big difference between the breeds, I believe that this is a case of 'It doesn't matter much'. While Claw works well with Focus, I...

Re: Apocalypse in PvP
No. It's a themed team. The Beatles: Beetle (Ringo), Beetle (Paul), Restless Shadeling (John) for example. P/P Twilight Beetle, S/S Savory Beetle, Fire/Lava Beetle are the best Beetles imo. Other critters are usually better, but beetles still do okay! Beetles aren't strong for the last few patches, ...

Re: Apocalypse in PvP
Beetle, Beetle, Restless Shadeling Why? Because Beatles are awesome! Apocalypse is easily countered. One can swap in a pet with low HP to soak it. It is weak against Mechanical/Undead pets. There are some restrictions. Your Apocalypse pet must be alive. Your Apocalypse pet must be your active pet. R...

Re: Anub
I generally only run Alpha Strike unless I need the type coverage from Claw. Alpha strike hits for just 4 points shy of the top end damage of Claw and isn't a damage range ability like claw (so no unexpected low hits). It's true Alpha Strike requires you to be 50% health or higher, but with dodge/n...

Re: Anub
Not the fastest way but a Teroclaw Hatchling should pretty much solo them, perhaps a switch now and again to let it heal up. 260 speed will be faster even after losing flying racial, so you will not lose Alpha Strike speed bonus. Then you can Dodge for some bonus healing. No problem if they run Def...

Re: Sunflowers and Crawdad
I think your complaints are the reason why I haven't ventured into PvP yet. If I were to run in those type of combos again and again I would also find it equally as frustrating (I also don't have a Sunflower/Magical Crawdad so that's another story). But in the end maybe I need to get over it. Becau...

Re: How do you counter this lil'rag/direhorn team?
This is also partially a question on how to properly manage magma trap. Hmm... Ragnaros is a tough opponent. Ragnaros can either be quite weak, or extremely strong. The weaknesses of Ragnaros are its speed/the randomness/lack of reliable single damage move. I personally have 2 different strategies ...

Re: Sunflowers and Crawdad
I played a lot of Puddle Terror, Sun Sproutling, and Ashleaf Spriteling (after the Garrison dailies were released). I think I have played it for a week or so. It however isn't the same as a Sunflower team. The team is made around doing damage, and bursting targets down with combos. If your opponent ...

Re: Cleave Based Teams
I like the Frostwolf Ghost Pup. It is a strong AoE counter. It is a strong individual pet with a very useful group heal.
I would say that sandstorm teams and/or control teams are favored.
But yes, AoE teams are very strong.

Thank you all for signing up. I really enjoyed it! I do want to organize another tournament in the future. I do like having quite some time between tournaments, but you will read about it on here! The tournament is tomorrow. I've sent you all an email with relevant information (the teams and other details). Thanks a lot for signing up. Let's have some awesome battles. On a related note. We could use one more sign-up in case someone is bored/free. It would make the group phase smoother. Sorry ...

Re: Garrison dailies that don't use the undead valk?
I have done all of the Garrison dailies. I haven't used the Val'Kyr in a single fight.
I might have never used the Val'Kyr in PvE, the Val'Kyr is a PvP pet for me.

Re: Question: How Important is Breeding?
Or, maybe this is more important in PvP battles. I haven't done much PvP, so I just don't know. How about you guys? What are the practical impact of breeds? It's tough to answer. A specific breed might be important for a specific strategy that you have, or for a specific fight, but generally it doe...

I prefer the Ruby Droplet when I feel like a 100% capture. It has heals, avoidance and it barely does damage.

Re: Awq's Pet Battle Tournament ~ 1 Feb 15:00 EU
I'm cautiously interested in this, will have to think a bit because I tend to lean towards "fun" rather than competitive pvp teams, and not sure yet if I can make that date. Will email to confirm, if so. Thank you for showing interest. Please consider (near the end of next week) if you feel like co...
