Re: Mechanics thread
Undead Racial vs certain kills If your undead pet is killed by a Minefield then you will still get two turns to do things. This also seem to happen when an undead pet is killed by Sticky Grenade(and possibly Bombing Run). Agony This ability increases in damage the longer it lasts. If you spam agony ...

Re: Mechanics thread
Nocturnal Strike vs Spectral Strike These two abilities at first glance seem very much alike but there is a slight difference. They are both 50%, same damage, 3 turn cooldown abilities. They will both get bonus to hit if the opposing pet is blinded. Here is the difference. Nocturnal Strike will incr...

Re: Mechanics thread
Comeback/Early Advantage These abilities do extra damage if the attacking pet has lower health. This is calculated after the first hit, so if the first hit brings the damaged pet below the health of the attacking pet the second part of the attack won't be applied. Also a strange side-effect/bug is t...

Re: Mechanics thread
Percent based damage Things that does x % damage, like Toxic Skin/Corpse Explosion/Explode/Glowing Toxin/Trample(part of it), does straight up that percent in damage. Pretty much nothing affects it. Not shields not buffs. This can of course be both good or bad depending. Good if your opponent has a ...

Re: Mechanics thread
Blood in the Water + Bleed Blood in the Water is a big hitting attack but only 50% hit chance. If the target pet is bleeding Blood in the Water will hit regardless. Even if you are blinded by Blinding Poison, -100% to hit, Blood in the Water will hit the bleeding pet. It will of course miss if the t...

Would be interesting to see how Surge, and other priority moves, work with Rush.

Re: Mechanics thread
Haunt - When it used to have no cooldown the Valkyr always died when it missed. Now this only happens in the scenario you described. Wave - Things these remove include Turrets/Rockets/Sons(Puppies) of Flame(Root)/Cyclone/Minesfield. And most importantly at this time though is that it removes two sta...

Re: Advice for PvP newbie
I'll copy a post I did in the 1001 Pet Battle Tips sticky. ---- One problem many have in pvp is that they are too predictable. Always using attacks in the same order for example. You really need to mix it up sometimes. Example. Facing a Kun-Lai Runt they usually do Frost Shock -> Deep Freeze. Unless...

Re: ever find that one team...?
I believe that Thunderbolt being slightly overtuned and that it uses the split by no. of pets mechanic is the main issue of the MPD. If the MPD is the last pet standing it is quite fast, 309, and can still hit for 600. This is not much below Ion Cannon finisher for example, like Skavenged said in hi...

Re: LF Team to defeat double Mechanical Pandaran Dragonling
weebomination x2 or 3 should take care of it.. cant say from experience but considering the skills... should work nicely. cleave wont hurt the first pet that has decoy up, but will hit the back 2.. if his fiendish is in backline cleave will tear it apart. worth a shot. Cleave is actually totally bl...

Re: LF Team to defeat double Mechanical Pandaran Dragonling
My absolute favourite MPD counter pet is S/S Prairie Mouse. If the Mouse faces an MPD start with Poison Fang, this leaves an elemental(strong damage) DoT on the mech. Then they usually answer with Decoy, though some start with Thunderbolt(which does weak damage vs critters). Now either you can Flurr...

Working as in it now provides a shield again or Working as in it actually works with elemental racial and provides a shield again?

Re: Strongest single target nuke pvp
I often face this one player that run with three pets with these kind of nukes. In pvp against any opponent worth his salt it is not very good at all. After you use Surge of Power you will stand there for two turns doing nothing. If your opponent has avoidance or a heal then you will have wasted you...

Re: Anub
Ah okay! Awesome. Thanks for the advice. I think I will try 40 match-ups using Alpha Strike to see if I like it! I agree with Myon. I avoid Alpha Strike whenever I can. It gets countered by shields, always-go first moves, Dragonkin and faster pets. Teroclaw is already weak against aquatic moves and...

Re: Anub
Why do you prefer Alpha Strike? (in general, not in this specific match-up). I pretty much only run Claw, unless I need the type coverage. I often face people with either flying and/or crawdad(actually starting to see quite a lot of different aquatics mainly frogs but also Hydraling and some crabs/...

Re: Anub
Not the fastest way but a Teroclaw Hatchling should pretty much solo them, perhaps a switch now and again to let it heal up. 260 speed will be faster even after losing flying racial, so you will not lose Alpha Strike speed bonus. Then you can Dodge for some bonus healing. No problem if they run Defl...

Re: Sunflowers and Crawdad
Even after Poison Fang nerf I find Kovok works exceptionally well against Sunflowers/Crawdads. Poison Fang + Black Claw pretty much nullifies the healing advantage. The only "problem" is the choice between Pheromones and Digest Brains. Pheromones works really well since Sunflowers often switch to th...

Re: Cleave Based Teams
Sigh. Another BONESTORM pet is not really what is needed. Although it does not have Ancient Blessing it has much higher Health than the Hatchling and while Consume has a 1 turn cooldown it seems to go well with BONESTORM->Conesume->Grave Destruction->Consume->BONESTORM.
