Re: The Problem with Talking About the Pet Battle System
If you went into heroic SoO with an unenchanted weapon, ungemmed chest piece and 2 470 level trinkets, would anyone be surprised that your DPS was weak? Yet this is roughly equivalent to not having the right pet or right breed when you fight the CT. The problem is that parts of the CT are totally r...

Re: Rotten helpers are already available it seems
16 completions and no pets of any kind. Takes forever on a low pop server, as you have to get every alt there, log them off, get your main there, solo the boss (which takes ages), relog every alt to get quest credit before it resets, then relog every alt to hearthstone back to Orgrimmar. Those "20 s...

Re: Are You Unprofessional If You Don't Do This?
Duplicates that won't ever get used just take up space and make the pet journal more difficult to navigate, so if I catch a rare I'll get rid of any lesser quality ones (and any rares of inferior breed). I personally also consider using two of the same pet in any battle to be rather lame, so I never...

Re: Three celestial pets already so early?
I hate to argue (no, that's a lie, I love to argue) but it's neither a bug (code working unexpectedly) nor an exploit (someone taking advantage of a bug to get something they don't otherwise deserve). It's a failure in Blizzard's scheduling of resets of various related components. No, it is an unin...

Re: [Idea] pet battle mono-type achievements.
This is just a crazy idea I had while farming some pets, wouldn't it be awesome if a player could earn a special pet of each type but performing the hard task of winning 25-75 max level pet battles with only one type of pet? That doesn't sound particularly hard, just time consuming. Winning any num...

Re: Explode and Celestial pets question
I have no problems with Kawi. Open with Sunlight and spam photosynthesis until Sticky Goo wears off, allowing swapping. That ruins the whole speed element, though. A decent fox or wolf can usually kill Kawi in 3-4 rounds. And since you can bring a team of three foxes, you can't really lose. Finally...

Re: Three celestial pets already so early?
Keep in mind that this is probably not intended by Blizzard and may be fixed in the future. Using this bug may also be considered an exploit, so I wouldn't recommend utilizing it. It is definitely not intended and it is definitely considered an exploit. The only uncertainty is whether Blizzard will...

The event lasts from November 1st to 3rd, to be specific. Right now it's impossible to get, as the pet didn't exist yet last time it was Day of the Dead. If you look it up, you'll find that no one has the pet.

Re: What's with bats?
As has been pointed out, a lot of the original battle pets work this way. The problem was that the buffs/debuffs didn't last long enough and didn't offer enough of a benefit to be worth it. Taking three turns to put up web (swap to spider, use web, swap back) is obviously completely useless when the...

Re: Budget Celestials
Were all your pets rare quality? In some cases (the flayer youngling comes to mind) it seems like it would be more time/effort to get a rare version of a wild pet than it would be to just get a drop. And you know what they say, time is money. Assuming you do the pet trainers at least once or twice ...

Re: Celestial Tournament Guide V. 1.0
If you want to make it more generally useful for everyone, making a short list of "useful" and "ideal" pets for each enemy could work. Most fights have some pet that's a perfect counter but which not everyone will have, along with a lot of pets that work well but may not be quite as reliable. As an ...

It's possible they'll just add the pets to the list of things that can appear in the BMAH.

Re: Timeless Isle Pet Strategy
Tracking timers is definitely the way to go. Once you kill a rare, do something else for the next 30 minutes (like camping another rare) then come back and camp it until it spawns (guaranteed to take no more than 30 minutes). Note down the times (or create DBM timers) when you kill something so you ...

Re: Multiple or Single Team?
I play around with various teams, though they usually end up facing the same teams repeatedly. Going by actual results, by far the best approach to PvP pet battles is to be to just look at a thread about which pets are strongest in PvP, then just pick three random ones from the list. If your goal is...

Re: Stuns and undead
Trainer pets seem to have a habit of cheating when it comes to anything proc-related. I've got nothing to back it up, but all their CC procs and low hit chance stuff seems to be proccing a lot more than you'd expect. Could be some undocumented quirk of the higher pet quality, or it's just the usual ...

Re: Dandelion Frolicker - worst pet to find ever?
I am still trying to get this bad boy too! I hear it's not a bad drop rate either, alas.... The droprate from the angry sprites is still horrible. The difference is that now you can kill 5-10 angry sprites each day, as opposed to before when you'd get one or two sprites some days. I cannot help wit...

Re: Dandelion Frolicker - worst pet to find ever?
It was dreadful, but since the crystal respawn was changed from 1h to 15 minutes and the spawn rate of the sprites was increased by something like 400%, it's decent. Free loot compared to trying to get the crab on a low pop server (meaning no one else ever killing crabs).

Re: 5.4.1 woof-woof
I'm guessing Recruit A Friend. Right now it's all mounts, and with the new option to pick what reward you get, I figure Blizzard would throw in a pet just to have it appeal to more people. Far from everyone cares about mounts, so offering another reward seems like a good idea. Or at least I hope so....

Re: Jeremy Feasel (Darkmoon Pet Battle)
I don't try leveling a carry pet against this team. I use a [pet]Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling[/pet], [pet]Fel Flame[/pet] and [pet]Darkmoon Tonk[/pet]. You should be able to replace the MPD with any decent level carry pet. As long as the carry pet is level 20 or so and can get the eye down to ~50...

Re: Spirit Tamer Leveling *Recon*
The air spirit might be worth keeping up for a bit. It's a nice fight for getting all those level 1 pets you plan to level up some day to a decent level. With the hat and a pet treat, each pet will get to about level 15 after just one battle. That's pretty handy. Don't bother doing it for more than ...
