Re: Valks have been nerfed into obscurity
Any nerf that Haunt received short of removal was well deserved, in my opinion. It was easily the best move in the game for a "free" pet, and not by a small increment either. While I didn't want to see the valk completely wrecked (and it isn't, even with the nerf), something had to be done. Here is ...

Re: Zao in the Tournament
Zao - Alpine Foxling / Crystal Spider / Chrominius. Like the Elfuego vids, start with Fox, and go with Dazzling Dance, Bite, then Howl. Fox dies and spider is up. Brittle Webbing, Spiderling Swarm, Crystal Prison. Switch to Chrominius. Howl, then Surge of Power. Zao dies. I used to run a dual spider...

Re: Fun Murkalot teams
The speed buff is actually the biggest issue with RI. If it would come with a speed debuff instead I would have no issue with it. This is this crux of the problem with Murk. Take away the speed bonus that RI gives, and it is no longer horribly, horribly broken; it simply turns into a powerful buff ...

Re: Barrage teams - Front pressure
I do enjoy Barrage-type teams, and they can even get past the whole shield negation problem with some debuffing. While not top-tier, these types of teams can open up a lot of different strats to cause headaches. One of my fave examples of this type of team is: Macabre Marionette Swamp Croaker Scourg...

Re: Fun Murkalot teams
Oh wow. Just got my hands on Murkalot. This little guy is awesome. Ive been having fun tearing through the panda trainers with him. Dabbled in some PVP with him, Lil Rag, and the Blackfuse Bombling. Any other fun combinations? :o Nope. Murk has a built in modifier that only allows him to be played ...

Re: Valk/gluth/???
I never got why people thought running a certain comp was cheating. To me it always came down to would I rather win a lot or not. The answer to that is fairly simple. The comp you are running is horribly, horribly broken at the moment, thus, many consider it cheating. In order to have any prayer ag...

Re: Haunt nerf upcomming, rejoice!
Silly me I forgot that haunt went first and avoided damage even when it's slower. Example of this NOT being like feign death. Valk vs Anub. Valk user selects haunt, Anub selects Crush. Say Anub goes first and kills Valk putting it in undead phase, haunt misses under new nerf.... But I am sorry for ...

Re: Pet of the Month - Fel Flame
I believe that the FF is one of the better elementals, actually. I use mine in a few different comps. His attacks span a nice range of direct dmg, and DoTs, giving him pretty good synergy with many other pets. My fave use for him by far is in a DoT/Regen team. If you pair him up with a Scourged Whel...

Re: Best breed for Sporeling Sprout?
Well, I will actually go out on a limb here and say that the p/p version is the best. Being slower with Crouch is not the end of the world. For instance, vs. a crow in a fresh match you will eat the initial CD, then Crouch, and be buffed for the NS. Not ideal, but not terrible. Same goes for a DAH. ...

Re: two adders and a crow
Just curious, do you know the breeds of the adders? For the teams I list, I will assume that both adders are s/s. Also, does he normally lead off with the same pet every time no matter what you run against him, and if he does, which is it? It is important when formulating a strat against them :). My...

Re: Good all-around Beast pet?
Why are people so fixated on leveling pets in the valley of the four winds when its not nearly the best place for speed leveling things since not nearly all pets there are lvl 25, and you usually need to move quite a bit between battles to find more to battle against. My personal favorite places fo...

Re: WoD ... pet pvp and magic pets plea
Willy may indeed be the best magic pet. I like the interrupt move and the tongue lash whams undead nicely. I just see such potential for magic pets ..they have a half decent racial ability that mitigates dmg ..but there are simply so few good ones compared to other families. Discodoggy has a great ...

Re: Unborn Val'kyr vs Unborn Val'kyr
I actually like being slower in the valk vs valk combo. I just attack until they haunt and then haunt the next round, putting their valk on the backline. While it isn't really a damage advantage, it usually messes up their combo. This of course doesn't work against stall teams as well, but it works...

Re: Unborn Val'kyr vs Unborn Val'kyr
I forget which breed mine is. I'll check when I get home. Also what is a DAH? DAH = Death Adder Hatchling. He is a fairly standard pet except for one exception; The s/s breed is notoriously broken atm because of his speed coupled with [ability]Blinding Poison[/ability], making him the bane of many ...

Re: Unborn Val'kyr vs Unborn Val'kyr
Depends on your breed of valk, as well as your other pets. Valk breed is incredibly important when it comes to valk vs. valk warfare. Let's look at a few scenarios: You = UV (b/b) / 2 random pets Opponent = UV (h/h) / 2 random pets Situation - You will be faster, and can therefore Haunt first if you...

Re: Humanoid/undead counters
Bonestorm Hatchlings are difficult to counter somewhat, due to the likelihood that they will get Bonestorm off at least twice in a fight, thx to the Heal and undead racial. One round stuns work well for the undead racial round, and Sandstorm actually works pretty well at soaking some of the dmg from...

Re: Triple Anub?
Like crows/ravens, Anubs are one of the few pets that are strong x3. Anubs are pretty much stand-alone pets anyway, so losing synergy is not a huge deal. They are tanky as is, and deal stout dmg. Probably the most dangerous thing to x3 Anubs is a Fossilized Hatchling/Creepy Crate. The undead AoE wil...

Re: How to beat the Wips
Nothing fancy is needed to beat a Wisp. Any crab with [ability]Shell Shield[/ability] and a heal will whittle down a Wisp easily, albeit slowly due to misses. Wisps have very little offensive pressure, and the little that they have from [ability]Light[/ability] is made manageable with the shield neg...

Re: Sunflower team?
Oh, there are many who have ran this team, or a similar one. I more often see a BA running with a Sunflower than x3 Sunflowers though, usually with a Ruby Droplet or Magical Crawdad as a third. While the cheese factor of this sort of team is incredibly high, it can give some players an edge. The one...
