The Clockwork Gnome works very well against the Eye and the Tonk. Use some other mechanical for the Monkey. Preferably a Tonk of your own!
Otherwise, the Infinite Whelping is a great pet to start with.
EDIT: Woah this is an old thread! Oh well, relevant this week anyway.

Re: Celestial Tournament 101-US Week 3 (some EU commentary t
At the this point I don't really know what to think about the Celestial Tournament. I find it hard but after finishing it I don't feel as if it was a solid win. It just feels that I got lucky and maybe next time I face the trainers I will not be so lucky. Maybe as the weeks move on and there are mo...

Re: Wrathion/Taran Zhu/Chen Stormstout
Here's the teams I used. I just posted them over in the main Tournament thread too: Wrathion [pet]Grasslands Cottontail[/pet] [S/S] (1/2/1) [pet]Flayer Youngling[/pet] [S/S] (1/2/1) Carry Pet Yes, only two pets! The rabbit can handle Cindy easily and the Flayer destroys the other two. Burrow to avoi...

After testing some different ideas, here are the teams I've won with. Obviously, there are a lot of options to succeed at the Tournament! Re: Celestial Tournament 101-US (some EU commentary too)
Does anyone have a Zao strategy that doesn't use the raptors? last one i have to down.. i'm pretty much out of mechanicals. and my raptors are like level 6 I used a Clockwork Gnome and a Cogblade Raptor to get Zao, but you say you're out of mechanicals. So I'm not sure that helps, but it was worth ...

Re: Guide to tamer daily pet battles (5.3) - For veterans
Wastewalker comp has not been working for me at all recently. Not sure why. Chrom would usually always die on the elemental, and raptor would die on the porcupine. Its not bad if my carry pet is 20+, but even then its been sketchy. Did something change on him recently? I feel like its not lucky rel...

Re: Third pet against Yu'la?
As mentioned, a Gregarious Grell is extremely strong against Yu'la. If you don't have one, a Feral Vermling does very well. Lil' Bad Wolf too.

thank you for the kind advice, tried it a few times and got close to getting them down. 2 of the pandas are strong against undead and they can avoid the curse of doom of the valkyr. The nexus whelping is good but dragons takes extra damage from humanoids already so he goes down easy. Ive also tried...

I've improved my Tommy strat since posting last week, so I'm sharing the better version! Tranquil Mechanical Yeti [1,1,2] Darkmoon Tonk [1,1,2] Menagerie Custodian [1,1,2] Start with the Yeti, cast Call Lightning. Yeti will be swapped by Frill Blast. Tonk should come in. Shock and Awe, then spam Mis...

All i want to say is that i hope Taran Su dies a long and painful death. Ive managed to finish his monks off twice using the same team, but the 3-11th time havent worked. Once i managed to do all but the bird, I only stopped then cos my husband said I had to go to bed :( Wish I had said him no, 2 h...

Yeah, I don't think the sandstorm change alters anything with the Zandalari Dino/Chrominius group. I didn't have problems with Quake, since Sandstorm lasted long enough for Pounder to die anyway. But I found my raptor taking too much extra damage against Mutilator. Taking damage from the shield as ...

I definitely like the Mechanical Pandaren Dragonling for Sludgy on the Thundering Pandaren Earth Spirit now. It's a tiny bit RNG, but still works well. Just spam Breath and use Explode when HP is low enough.

Re: Best Pet To Use Flawless Stone on?
There's, well, a LOT of good pets out there. To beat the Tournament you'll need more than 1-2! Skimming through your pets, the Warbot and Mechanical Yeti are pretty good choices for the Tournament.

Re: Little Tommy Newcomer
Mine was pretty simple. Darkmoon Zeppelin Darkmoon Tonk Menagerie Custodian I use Decoy to block the first Frill Blast since it hits for quite a bit even on a mechanical. So: Decoy, Missle until Zepp dies, Explode after the rez. Switch to Tonk, next ability is usually the Frill Blast so Ion Cannon. ...

Wow, why do you have so many? Isn't the only place to get Polished stones by spending Justice Points? Anyway, there's been no news about any changes to Polished stones. They're only useful for turning a pet Green. They drop fairly frequently if you are doing the 25v25 pvp pet battles. I would say b...

Re: Pet classification
There is no way to tell what quality (green, blue, etc) a pet is or what stats it has before the battle starts.
Blizzard has talked about adding epic pets for players at some point, but there are no details on this yet. Probably not until next expansion.
