First, I look for whether it's a pet I have or not and catch it. (I can always release it later if/when I find them with better breed/rarity.) Second, I look for best breed. Third, I look for rarity because I can get stones fairly regularly right now.

I know that people have made macros to alert you when certain pets are nearby. You might have to spam it when you're in the area you're farming, but they work. Found mine in Greymane-US, a little after 12:00 PST. She was at the far east spawn point in Crystalsong Forest. About an hour earlier, I had seen another one in Dragonblight at the Forgotten Shore, but someone had already beat me to it. :p
