Re: Solution to Backline Damage in PvP?
I'm curious what that backline healing team consisted of, because I've personally not seen those compositions have much success. Immolation healing is unviable for one, as being humanoid is a huge target on your head in this undead heavy metagame and cannot possibly outheal the undead damage from Gr...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!
I've become fond of the P/S Bone Serpent in Graves teams for that reason. Has decoy/bubble removing utility with Bone Barrage, and Call Darkness + Nocturnal Strike provides good single target damage while also giving you tools against the aquatic or healing teams that people like to run. I still run...

Re: What's the best way to use Murkalot, Graves and MPD?
Bonestorm is indeed more damage than Grave Destruction if 3 pets are valid targets for AoE, it's a very small difference (250 to each pet vs 222). The only reason you'd want to use it on Grave Destruction are if your opponent has 2 or less pets on the field or you want to destroy an object at the sa...

Re: Mechanics thread
Thanks for all the clarifications. Here's another one: interaction between traps and battlefield clearing spells. When you cast a spell that removes all objects from the battlefield--Magma Wave, etc.--onto a trap (Lil' Rag and Curious Wolvar Pup), what happens? I seem to always get stunned from a p...

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!
Someone else, I forget who, mentioned the Slithershock Elver as a pretty effective pet as well, and it's aquatic to boot which is always welcome in this undead heavy metagame. Open with Clobber and you will nail the RI'd pet - the beauty of this is that if they call your bluff and don't use RI, they...

Re: Mechanics thread
Yeah, it should be consistent across all pets that use moves like that. I don't think there'll be any situation where, for example, your Junglebeak gets hit while lifted off, but your Bronze Whelpling manages to dodge it.

Re: Mechanics thread
I've had a few questions eating at me. 1. How do Darkness + Nocturnal Strike interact with blindness. For instance, if I blind a Bone Serpent with a Death Adder Hatchling while darkness is the weather, should his nocturnal strike be able to hit given the general game mechanics? In practice, I learn...

Re: Pet Battle Bots in PvP?
There used to be a rather well known 'quit bot' that I and a couple of others in my matchmaking pool used to see quite often. Always ran the same team and would concede immediately the moment the fight started. The funny thing is that there were actually two of these bots - the other one would also ...

Re: Mechanical / Undead Survival
Well, the H/H Ghastly Kid comes pretty close.
Massive amount of HP, slippery target as it can just haunt to avoid poor matchups, and has your choice of Ethereal/Consume Magic for some defensive utility - and best of all you can see it staring at you with that smug goat face.

Re: Graves in PvP = he wrecks!
It's really just the undead racial I feel. Pets with non-undead damage AoE like the MPD and Fragment of Anger were farming wins just fine before Graves came along. If you're an elemental or magic or critter pet for instance, you're basically playing with the handicap of not having a racial at all be...

Re: Question re undead racial
If they die (and their undead racial triggers) on the same round you die as a non-undead pet, you lose the match.
If they die (after their undead round) on the same round you die as a non-undead pet, the match is a tie.

Re: The pvp war against undead
I've been running Murkalot/Graves myself so I'll just rattle off some comps that have put up a good fight. A haunt + consume corpse team with an aquatic third (Valk, Stitched Pup, and the ol' P/P Emperor Crab for example) does pretty well. The third pet frankly doesn't really matter much, but the cr...

Re: What are your top 5 moths and their ability?
5. Imperial Moth ~ Slicing Wind, Moth Balls, Cyclone This Moth has an AMAZING move set. It however has a horrible stats. The H/H breed is okay, I like the additional health on this type of pet. The 292 base speed (even as a H/H breed) however is a complete waste of stats. So it only has 244 power, ...

Re: Graves observations
Falling Murloc has the same damage as ion cannon, except that the stun only lasts one round, and Murk can be swapped out, while Chrominius, Tonks, etc have to stand there for two rounds taking a beating. As if that wasn't bad enough, the self-stun from Falling Murloc is also negated by arcane winds...

Re: Graves observations
I feel like the power of Graves is almost entirely due to the power of Murkalot (which I personally feel got even stronger after the 'nerf' back then, I'll gladly lose shieldstorm for falling murloc). As others have mentioned, without RI support, Graves is just your typical above average pet with fa...

Re: Graves observations
I do wonder how in tune they are with our little metagame though, what I mean is, I don't figure they lose too much sleep stressing over the breeds and abilities of to-be-released pets and whether something is going to end up overpowered - probably a bare minimum sanity check that nothing is too cra...

Re: Graves observations
That's how it usually plays out for me - I typically just let Graves stay in till he's dead and then finish up with Murkalot and the MPD, unless of course the opponent has managed to play in a way that forces me to adapt a little. I'd be hard pressed to think up a team that could go toe to toe, it c...

Re: Graves observations
I've been running the typical scummy team of Murkalot/Graves and a MPD to clean up afterward and it's gone pretty predictably. You can't ask for a better target for Righteous Inspiration with Graves' moveset and favourable breed to boot (1668/314/211, just what you want in an undead pet). Fee...

Re: Graves observations
Grave Destruction's behavior seems pretty consistent with other similar effects as far as I know. Use Magma Wave for instance against an enemy with a Decoy set up - and you'll see the decoy block two applications of damage instead of being destroyed first and then Magma Wave damaging the whole team.

Re: one thing I absolutely cannot stand
They should do like Hearthstone: If time runs out, subsequent turns get shorter and shorter.. I believe this is already the case actually - it's just not as obvious as in Hearthstone but the timer does get a little shorter. You'll know it's kicking in when your input for the turn starts getting acc...
