I'm a new collector and I don't really have a list that I'm looking for, I guess I would like to trade for pets that are more for battling rather than collecting for this particular one.

I'm not sure how your collection is shaping up, but if you're interested in good pets for pure battling...you are best to keep your Anub.Idol unless you have another. For both PvP and pve it is excellent.

For 500g, its worth a trip to the Dalaran toy shop to grab a Warbot..its devastating and durable like Anubisath in any battle

Lastly, a nice power pet that you can often find for 100g or so is the yellow moth ..get the p/p breed if you can

power power. It's the breed of a pet.
Pets can come in a buncha breeds. Every pet comes in 2 of 4 thingies: Speed ("s"), Health ("h"), Power ("p"), and Balance ("b) which is like a mix of the first 3. So like a pet can be power/power (pp), speed/speed (ss), power/speed (ps), power/balance (pb), etc.
You just have to look at their moveset and pick what you want, but the yellow moth in power/power (pp) is a good one.
If you get that mod... Battle Pet BreedId, it'll show you the breed of each pet. Def recommend that mod. Should be able to find it on curse.
