Just a reminder for those looking for Guardian Cubs...

I tried to make some Guardian Cub trades today, but, you really can't gift those from Blizz store.
You can only send them to a specific char on your account.
On top of that, after you learn the Cub, there is a 24-hour cooldown to cage it.
So, we can't do multiple trades with those cubs on a single day.

Why in the world did they change them in such a fashion I wonder. Either way I guess I'm going to have to find a couple of them from before all that happened since a friend wants one.

The 24 hour CD was put in place when they released those cubs in Cata. I am surprised it is still around now with the pet journal, but it isn't new. Originally it was 2 options, learn the cub, or wait 24 hours to be able to trade it. This was before the pet journal and the ability to trade any pets. Once you learned a pet, it was bound.

My cub can be recaged as often as I want. So I would assume the 24 hour CD is just a one time thing, if its even still in effect. Since once learned, it would be a battle pet and should be able to be caged as normal. I haven't purchased one to test it out though.

Ah okay I did not know that. All I know is the prices of the cubs are of course spiking upwards and on some servers VERY silly amounts. The cub is still for sale for 2 more weeks and it is still as cheap as the other pets.

yeah it is pretty funny went from 4-5k to 40-60k. Create fear in the market place and hope to hit big

Did I miss a memo?? Are they going to stop selling the cub through the pet store in 2 weeks?

Thanks, Nobu. And ty Faelar for pointing it out. Found the announcement on Blizz. "No sooner" than the 18th is how it reads... so maybe later but no guarantees.

Although this is complete speculation, my guess as to why the Cub has the 24h bind is to try and stop some of the scammers (like those often selling game time/mounts/pets) from using fraudulent credit cards to make the purchases.

Just to confirm the information, after the 24h CD, you can cage them as much as you want.

I imagine this is to be sure payment clears the system before the pet can be traded away and lost into the morass of Blizzard records and be much harder to claw back if the payment fails or was from a stolen account/card
