I had a friend that used to buy cases of TCG cards from EBAY every week.After he opened and sorted through hundreds or thousands of cards (whatever is in an entire case of decks) it wouldn't be unusual for him to have a dozen or more XTs, Lichs, Nightsabers, Scarabs, Puffers...you know any of the small pets.
Not saying it isn't duping but there could be a legit reason he has so many of them.

I've noticed that these two pets have been increasing in price on several servers where I trade. If someone were going to dump them, it is a good time. So far, I have not seen them for 5k, but I'll be on the look out.

I would say 5000 is well within the range I would expect someone legitimate who was opening a case of cards to be willing to dump them for too.
Incidentally, if your friend wants a bunch of gold on the cenarius server I'd buy a bunch of them.
