How do you know exactly what a rare pet or CE pet is actually worth in the trade world? I have an unopened CE edition. Curiosity is getting the better of me.

Well, you'll probably get a variety of offers if you go to trade something, but I like to base the price off of ebay/amazon/tcg loot site and do $1 = 1k for trading.
So just hypothetically... if something I wanted is selling on ebay for $200, I'd likely offer 200k on a high pop server (more on a medium/low pop) or possibly more on a high pop server if I really wanted it.

Thank you, I just checked ebay. It ranges anywhere from $100-$800.. Although Im sure the 800 is a bit of a stretch.

I see a few sealed, with keys, for like $340. so I'd expect 340k ish on a high pop server.
You might get lucky and find someone willing to pay more though.

One more question, I have never sold anything through wow before. Would\Can I start a thread here? Or try to sell in trade chat? Obviously, I would want the gold on the realm I play on. Stormrage. Anywhere else would be worthless to me.

You can find the rules for pet/CE trades and sales in this post

I would list it here and on ebay, unless you are set on getting in-game gold. I did most of my CE and TCG buying/selling through ebay because you get certain guarantees of legitimacy. This site has been excellent for trades, but like the main pet forums offers no protections for a deal gone bad. Just be cautious.

It just depends on what you want. If you want money irl, there's a ton of good places to sell it.

If you want in game stuff, this site is pretty good (I actually do not know of any others offhand for pet trading/buying/selling). A lot of people here deal in Illidan and Stormrage gold, so I think you'd have no problem finding offers including or made up entirely of Stormrage gold. You'd probably also find people willing to part with other pets/mounts/toys/transmog items/etc for it.

I wouldn't spam in game trade, if that's what you mean by chat. That's just asking to be scammed/trolled/reported/etc. If you do that, don't give them the code first ><

Thanks again for the feedback, I think I may actually list it here.
