I put in a suggestion for a text list of duplicate pets.

Breanni and Quint suggested that if there's support they'll consider the request. Chime in here if you think it's a good idea:

My thought is that it would be really nice to get a list of duplicate pets I have that could be easily listed in text format and cut/pasted to things like our trading forum posts. Especially if could be filtered to only tradeable duplicates. I know a fair number of us regularly farm and buy/sell pets, and it's hard to manually keep a list of what can be 100's of potentially tradeable pets updated. They have the data from the WoW armory, we just need someone to figure out how to export it in a nice usable format.

I see where your going with this and I think it would be very useful, my only issue is that most, if not all, of my tradeable pets are caged and stored in a guild bank on a specific character so as not to bog down/fill up my actual pet roster. With a limited amount of space I try to keep my trades separate from my actual collection. But I agree trying to maintain a list of them is a pain and I wish there was a simple way to do it. For those that don't have so many pets though I see where it could help.

Hadn't though thought of that approach, but I trade cross-server so I tend to like them in my journal.

I was actually toying around with this (as an addon/mod) to make my life easier.

I think it'd take some user input to make it work well though. Picking out pets in your inventory/auctions is easy enough.
But the addon needs to have the user mark which cageable, journal pets were permanently collected.
Like if you have a duplicate, how does it know which one to pick - you could tell it to 'keep' the higher level pet, but what if 2 pets are the same level but different breeds? Some users might want to sell the higher one in some cases too. I've also got a lot duplicates that aren't for sale/trade: 25s and 1s (or multiple 25s) that I want to keep for battling/plvling purposes or because they're different breeds.
With a ton of users though, I don't think you could give an addon one automatic, default behavior that would work for everyone. Users could edit their individual lists after the addon picks out all the pets.. but it'd be better (imo) if the user could tell the addon which pets were 'perma-collected' once, so that the user doesn't have to constantly edit the list. If we have to constantly edit a list, it's not really an improvement over the current system, imo.

I actually have the addon semi functional. I can copy + paste + post a list of pets that are in my auctions/inventory (1 big list for multiple toons on multiple servers). But it's not organized, so I don't normally use it. Right now, it just comes out in whatever order they are in in inventory/AH by server. Filtering it really wouldn't be hard, but I just haven't completed that part yet. So currently, there's a buncha cheapo pets mixed in with good ones (eg. winter's lil helper, firefly, hatespark, moth, imperial silkworm, viscous horror, etc). I did make it so each pet was only listed once (could have made a count of them instead), but that's all I've done for "organizing" the list so far.
Lots of stuff on the "to do" list! Edited out my wall of text of things I'm working on for it and stuff.
