Ok so, what is the exact process for buying a mount on another server without transferring servers? Make a DK, level them to what lvl? I assume that I need to pay to ride and pay to fly? Or not?

I have a toon in a guild with the Jade Serpent that I am leveling on a server I have no 90's on. Sadly there are no guilds on Hellscream (at least none I know of) that have this mount unlocked. When this toon gets enough rep to buy the mount do I need to pay for flying to learn it?

Fastest way is make a level 1 to get the mount from whomever. Make a DK and then have the level 1 mail the mount to the DK. As long as it is a mount that can be learned by a sub-60 you should be able to memorize it right away. There is a mailbox nearby in the DK quest area. Takes less than 5 minutes to get the mount learned.

If the mount is above the DK's level then yes you'd have to level the DK.

As far as learning a reputation mount you'd want to get a guild tabard and then mail it to the DK to speed the rep gain process. Not familiar with the jade serpent but I think it requires level 90 AND the faction for the cloud serpents, if I remember it correctly.

So yeah getting exalted with cloud serpent to learn it on a new character. Going to take forever

Instead of leveling a new toon on a diff server, or even make a character transfer to another realm (if you even thought about it), i would advise you to just wait for 5.4 (which probably will be live next week).

Not sure if you know, but there will be realm "merges", so your realm will probably be fused with a couple diff ones, and so will have tons of new guilds (unlikely that not even 1 of them wont have the mount available) that you can join and get your cloud serpent.
