As of last night I wasn't able to gift it. You could only buy using the in store game, (puts the item soulbound right into your bags) with no way to gift it. As of this morning it's not available online at the blizz store.
I think this is a way for them to get people to use the in game store.

bumping because the skyreaver is giftable now! I have multiple eng pets and stones to offer also ask me for any pet you want for it.
