6.2 PTR fel-corrupted legendary pets

Build 19906:
  • There are 15 boss pets (similar to Beasts of Fable in MoP) in Scuttler's Coast area (southern shores of Tanaan Jungle).
  • In this build all these pets are only rare and abilities are missing, they're supposed to be "legendar-ified".
  • Each boss pet is supported by 2 randomized allies, all three pets are level 25.
  • Support pets are standard pets with random breed and quality. I've seen 10 different support pets in ~200 fights, most of them listed for Tanaan Jungle (okay it's PTR, Devs can easily change the number/variety).
    • Ash Viper
    • Bloodbeak
    • Cerulean Moth
    • Fen Crab
    • Horned Lizard
    • Maggot
    • Rat
    • Tree Python
    • Violet Firefly
    • Water Fly
  • You can trap the support pets.
  • The Boss pets all have the "Elite" buff (reduces all damage taken by 50%) and use [ability]Fel Corruption[/ability] on cooldown
    3 Round Cooldown, 100% Hitchance
    "Calls forth a wave of fel power, dealing x elemental damage to all enemy pets, and empowering allied backline pets, increasing damage dealt and reducing damage taken by 50% for 10 rounds."
  • If a player is fighting a boss pet, it's occupied... other players can't interact with (or even see) this specific pet to start a battle. (hmmm imagine 20 player progressing or afking on 15 boss pets... we need a queue ;-))
  • The enemy team won't change (pets & breed & quality) until you kill at least one of them, the abilities of the support pets (can) change in every single fight (with restrictions of the 2 standard abilities per slot).
  • You can win a fight / get your Fel-Touched Pet Supplies once per day, boss pet and account.
  • If you forfeit, your pets lose 10% health.

They've been updated to act like proper legendary "boss pets" now. You can battle them at the same time as other players and your encounter is phased/hidden from view.

The forfeit penalty was also removed, so they behave similar to trainer battles now. Once per day each with a reward upon completion.

I haven't tested to see if they reward decent experience, but with AOE as the legendary pet's first move, it might be difficult to use a carry pet. We'll see!

Build 19934:

Quintessence already listed the important changes... For me, the "randomized allies" of the boss-pets don't look that random anymore, of course the support pets change abilities per fight, but I don't feel they're completely random from the pets I listed for the last build. But I didn't do as much testing on one pet, still trying to find some of them and finding teams to crush them (the orange ones with more than Fel Corruption are a bit harder than in last build ;-))

My guess is if they don't have a tamer, you are looking at wild pet battle experience at best. I haven't tested though to confirm that.

Tried out the froggie one in my limited time span tonight. It gave regular wild pet battle Experience (616 for a level 23 wearing a safari hat). I'll try out others another day, but willing to bet they all do.

Hmm even if I killed 1 or 2 pets of the teams yesterday, I think I haven't seen the boss-pet's allies change and adjusted my team (mostly 3rd pet slot) to handle them. Today some of my saved 3rd pets don't look that valuable anymore, so maybe the boss-pet's allies now change once per day??

Random secondary/tertiary pets???

Does that mean, you have no idea, which pets you are fighting (not counting the legendary one)?
Wether you fight rats (critter), flies (flying), crab (aqua) or snakes (beast) as support pets, can make a huge difference in what team to use..

Sounds like it can be quite challenging, unless NPCID change with the extra pets (similar to Kura/Erris, whuch have 5 different NPCIDs)..

Yes, that is what it looks like, but with only a daily change of the 2nd and 3rd pet you only have to take care of their ability change when you lose or forfeit.

My Rematch didn't save extra teams on single boss-pets, so I don't think the teams are ingame with a specific NPC ID, of course with some sort of ID if they'll only change once per day.

For me this time it's more of a "have 1 or 2 specific pets to handle the boss and go as far possible to get rid of the Fel Corruption on his allies and then choose the 3rd from a list of valuable pets that match this days opponent team". Extremely difficult for (video) guides, but we'll see.

  • Dreadwalker's position changed slightly (first on the bridge to Hellfire Citadel, now in front of it. :eek:
  • No change on Felfly, still Level 1 :-/

I've checked dreadwalker and the hippo, gives the same as in a pet battle. doesn't realy worth the hassle.

I haven't had time to devote to getting on/around tanaan yet. Does defeating one fel-legendary set all those quests to completed status for the day?

If I'm understanding it right, you can fight them all you want but the satchel reward is only from the first win of the day.

No, there are 15 hidden quests, one per tiny terror and they only track if you were successful vs. their specific fel-corrupted pet team this day (so no one can grind pet xp with these guys). You get one satchel per defeatet pet (directly to your bags, there is no quest to accept and turn in), so it's a maximum of 15 by doing all 15 tiny terrors per day. (Maybe it would've been better to not take/post a screenshot of my custom Daily Global Check when I already completed all 15 so people can see "inclomplete" in some lines ;-))

I think few of us really thought about being able to do tiny terrors multiple times per day with different chars and be rewarded with the fel-corrupted pet supplies bag each time (15 boss pets per day with no flying and surrounded by dangerous mobs sounds overwhelming for most people already) but for now this is possible and @Muffinus tweeted this is intended to go live but they'll be looking into it and maybe change it to account wide later if they think it's neccessary. (thinking of MoP Faction dailys, we could do them all and a lot of people felt they HAVE to do them all).
