New rabbit models?? Please let it be true!

Ugh, I know I'll be in the minority on this, but I hope they don't do that. I don't want to have the old models forcibly replaced (yes I still use old character models as well). I liked that when they updated frogs and snakes, they left the old models alone and just added new ones to supplement them, and had hoped that would be the m.o. with future model updates.

The rabbits (and rats and squirrels and marmots) have desperately needed a model makeover, so I'm glad to see this.

Still, I can't help but be disappointed that this probably spells the end of the super-glossy Mountain Cottontail variant. I worked hard to get that shiny white bunny!

This is the first thing I'm going to test once they allow character/data copying over to the Legion alpha/beta. Hopefully the shiny version will still be in-game, even with the updated models. You can bet I'll be bugging the developers about it.

There IS a general overhaul! Bunnies in general, including [pet]Darkmoon Rabbit[/pet], are updated too!
This list contains also another companions, pet journal descriptions and extracted abilities.

I wrote the front page post prior to Wowhead's model preview, but I've updated the front page to include a link to the Wowhead post now. They have the tools to capture much better images than I ever will!

Quintessence, have you been able to confirm the mountain cottontail yet? Are the new rabbit models in alpha? Can you copy over pets yet? Do I even know how alpha works? (The answer to the last one is probably no.)

Much to my dismay, I haven't been able to confirm the existence of the "shiny" [pet]Mountain Cottontail[/pet], no.

Account/data copying is still unavailable on Alpha, but once it is you can bet I'll be checking the cottontail first and foremost!

Oh please, rethink that one.
The slimmer old shape seemed more recognisable, related to Corvidae, than this pretty generic shown one.
And sometimes the simple, monochromatic colouring is better especially on such a symbolic bird family.

Will sound like a moaning little child but I may even consider staying away from the hunter talent (A Murder). Especially if the new model is more prone to eating the server resources.

My shiny Mountain cottontail now comes in a different color each time it is summoned. None of them are shiny though

I was hoping they would fix this prior to 7.0.3 but guess not. Maybe by Legion?

At least it's 'shiny' (gold) in the Pet Journal and we get another color-changer pet...? *sigh*
