Okay did it with another premade to save XP, quest that will reward a ferret pet is [url=http://wowhead.com/quest=50739]Missing Business[/url] given by the child Vulpera [url=http://wowhead.com/npc=135012]Vivi[/url] near Vulpera Hideaway.

Like Throatslit said, right now you only get a placeholder item and no pet, but I like the idea... better to have this in my bags on Alpha (until they change it into a teach-me-a-battle-pet item in a future build) than getting nothing or a a poor quality placeholder and re-do these quests (I think you have to quest to discover the Vulpera Hideaway and then VivI is optional) on another character when they are done with the pet

They are not place holders now finished both quests for Guardian Cobra Hatchling and Poda... Maybe just luck , but both of them were Rare, and lvl 1.

Okay so if you come to warbeast kraal on the map (flight point) there is a very cute critter here called a Crested Gekkota, I super hope they make this adorable guy a pet

In the same area I have found a Darazian lizard which seems to have the same model but different color as my previous post. woo new pet discovery

Color variations are Sand, dark sand, and a nice red coloring near Scaletrader Post.

In Scaletrader Post I found a little blue turtle named Mona she has with her a "Fledgeling Monarch" I am thinking she is either a future pet boss or pet trader....all you can buy off her is a crappy leech right now.

So we have 4 in each zone, and uptime looks different (same thing we had for Legion until they changed all to the daily reset)

Today was a huge Pet Battle content patch day. Very short preview (we'll have more on the front page in the coming days):

• 5 new Pet Battle achievements (including collect 800 and 1k pets achieves!), plus 1 Toy Box achievement that rewards a pet
• At least 30 new pets (doesn't seem to include wild pets so expect more)
• PVP Prestige pets updates (we now know how we'll obtain these companions in BFA)
• ...and probably more!

So I am out in N/E Nazmir and there is a bunch of Young Sand Sifters. They are all level 25, as expected, but so far they only fight as a single pet. It is also showing NO fighting abilities (6 blank slots.)
