Is there a way to find out about the base stats immediately?

As in a form of ingame script, API tool or at least a consolidated list?

I know that I can fetch it from addons or make a reverse calculation, just find that a bit tricky for something so essential.

Petsear.ch is out of date.

Sample: A generic [pet]cat[/pet] model is 7.5/9/9.

Im not sure if youre still looking for it, but i downloaded Battle Pet BreedID from Curse, and it neatly shows available pet breeds with lvl25 Rare stats in the tooltip at mouse over, and it will put an asterisk at the breed you currently possess and looking at.
For example, when you mouse over a Netherspace Abyssal and you possess an H/H;
Netherspace Abyssal
*H/H 1725/268/252
P/P 1400/333/252
P/S 1400/289/289

It does not show gender type though, but since WoW has not officially implemented a use for it, it is not needed anyway.
It also does not show which breeds you own in total of a pet, but that can be solved by sorting by name or rarity.
But i dont know if you specifically wanted the stat formula displayed, or the eventual result of the formula (in the form of Rare lvl25 Breed stats).
But it helped me at least.

EDIT: I just checked and it actually is possible to show base stats too, but it is off by default.
