Question about Rematch Randomizing

I've been using Rematch for a long while now and I love it. But I'm starting to do some random world pet battling to increase my collection and I'm trying to figure out how randomizing works. I set my first slot to a leveling pet and it fills from the leveling queue as expected. Then I set the second and third slots to randomizing. I then go into a battle, and pets take damage; for the next battle, the leveling slot fills with a healthy pet from the queue, but the same randomized injured pets stay in the random slot for the next battle. It looks like if I want to refill the slot with a healthy pet I have to choose "stop randomizing" and then pick a random pet again. Is this expected or should it autofill? I looked at the options and couldn't see anything that seemed to be for auto-filling the slot with the next healthy random pet.
Just wondering if I'm missing something! The language of "randomizing" this slot makes me think that at least when a pet is dead, if not just when taking some damage, that it would "randomize" to another pet, but it doesn't seem to work that way.
