Graves & HotS Anniversary XP Bonus Event!

I am a total slacker and am still level 14 in Heroes of the Storm. I'm hoping to finally hit level 20 and get Graves during the current anniversary bonus XP event, but not many of my friends play. Anyone else here still need Graves, or would be willing to group up with me vs AI for the bonus XP buff?

I wish you luck...most of us here HATE Heroes of the Storm. I was level 7 FOREVER and finally during Easter break I tortured myself for HOURS until I finally hit level 20. See my rant from that day for more details how I got him...lol

That game goes so horribly even on lowest settings in my machine and I'm so a lazy person that I tend to lose everything except the Training.

Why don't you guys just afk in Training mode?

It's literally just three mouseclicks (and hitting ESC to skip the cinematic) per match every 20-25 minutes. You will get plenty of XP just by standing at the spawn point.

I'm horrible with that game. I'm at level 14 or 16 and I just hate it. I also am not very good with it.
The other players often say what the hell I am doing sometimes. I usually say that I'm just there to get the pet. lol.

AFK in training mode FTW. I too hated the game, I just ground it in the background while doing other stuff. Took longer, but I didn't have to play.

Yes! I did the afk in trainer mode and I got it done started at level 3 thank god for the anniversary buff or I would have never done it.

The anniversary bonus event (+ a stim pack) has been great! Just doing the A.I. beginner games and actually really enjoying it. I was worried it was going to be awful, but it's not nearly as difficult as I expected it to be, and I've been having a lot of fun.

Helps that with the bonuses I'm already to level 9!

I like the game okay, but not enough to play regularly... so I think I'll be trying this AFK in training mode and passing this info on to my guildies. Thanks for the tip!

I was on level 17 forever, and by chance I decided to play this weekend and finally get it done. Imagine my surprise that I got an Anniversary portrait and the EXP boost. It did take me like 11 games to get to level 20 - I initially played Quick match - but I found I got more XP when playing Versus the AI [your team is all human though ], and the wait times were way shorter.

And please note, when you get the achievement, Graves goes into your bags. I was expecting an email or directly into the Pet Journal. I didn't check my bags... so I deleted the Cache, WTF and Interface with no luck [obviously]. So check your bags

Got mine last night in the wee hours. It showed up in my mailbox rather than my bags. And leveling in AI Training mode while AFW made this easy to do.

Worth pointing out that it appears the "AFK in Training Mode" method that's being discussed will not be possible in the next Heroes patch, scheduled for June 14. There is a note that AFK detection has been added to Training Mode.

If you want to get it this way, better do it before then.

I got mine 2 days ago and am super happy I never need to play that game again. He's pretty cool looking at least. I had to buy a sim pack because I needed the game to end as quickly as possible and the added bonus for the anniversary was just an added bonus.

If any EU players (is HotS even region locked or is it just Battle. net?) want to give this a go on Monday 13th, I'm up for it - playing with someone on your friends list nets you extra exp as well as the anniversary buff.

FINALLY got it yesterday. HOTS is alright, definitely a fun change from WOW, BUT this pet better be worth it. I won't be playing HOTS for awhile. 12 hours of grinding, 11 levels.

I just found out about Graves this week. He murdered my pets. I want him! I have never played Hots though =(
