Do you remember your first rare wild pet?

Was browing through the collecting forums, and randomly wondered - who remembers what their very first wild pet was that they caught as a rare?

Mine was the Black Lamb, and my kids thought it was hilarious that I squealed in excitement that I had found a rare one!

In honor of this memory, I changed my site avatar to the Black Lamb, as a tribute to the long, frustrating, enjoyable, entertaining, and fulfilling journey of pet collecting that alllllllll started with a cute little sheep in Elwynn Forest!

Curious to see what other people remember about their starting journey into pet battling and collecting!

I honestly don't have a clue!

I collected my first ever pet over 11 years ago when I saved up the money (yes really) to buy one of the cats from the woman in Elwynn Forest for a few silver. That was the start of a pet collection addiction that's now spanned a quarter of my entire life!

It was probably something like a rabbit or a chicken. I had no clue about things like rarity, breed, etc. and was catching everything I came across just because.

H/B Little Fawn, left from the gate of Stormwind after unlocking pet battles just minutes prior. Didn't even know that rarities existed until the achievement popped. And yes, i still have it to this day, leveled to 25, with the name "Firstie" because i'm creative like that.

I don’t know about rare, but have a vague memory of helping a fellow guildie farm sprite darter hatchling and getting one myself, feels like a vanilla/TBC memory.

Mine was a Black Lamb too. I thought i was awesome until one of my guildies showed me his small compared to now collection. Just outside SW many many battles ago.
