Crimson Octopode w/eye patch

I'm looking to get my hands on one with the eye patch. Is there any secret to getting on with the patch or is it totally random?

As with all alternate skins, it's random. And unfortunately, WoW doesn't really have the tools to help those looking for battle pets with different colors/skins; the AH only displays the default appearance

The Crimson Octopode can be purchased with dubloons, so best advice would be to stock up, and hope RNG will be in your favor. Or find someone with the specific appearance you want and trade them. Be wary though, alternate skins are probably easy to scam since there's no in-game way to verify what they claim.

Thank you for this, just realized mine has an eye patch! I guess the RNG gods are with me. I wonder if you can check the AH for versions with the eyepatch (CTRL+Click to view in viewer)? I just looked myself and among 10, none had the eye patch.

After reading about this variant I had to have it!
There was one on the AH and now Patchy has joined my team.
If you buy one off the AH and its the not-patched you can just relist it and try again.
