Lucky Quillen Cub available at Shop

The lucky-quilen-cub and the mount that were previously only available when you bought the MOP collectors edition are now on sale at the shop. $5 for the pet.

Original assumption was that if you spent extra Real World money for the Collector's Edition that you'd get a unique pet, unobtainable otherwise. Annoying that Blizz later sold them for gold.

At this point I might as well stop preordering the collectors editions just wait for Blizzards summer sale and buy it with gold. No sense wasting real money.

I understand the sentiment and agree on some level. I have been tempted to splurge on some older CE for the pets. But I always come to the conclusion that it's not worth the money.

I originally started playing during Burning Crusade, but quit before WOTLK came out. I came back at the start of MOP. Never would have imagined at the time that I would collect pets. Buying the CE would have been laughable at the time.

I bought a physical copy of the CE for Star Wars Galaxies. The only reason I did it was because it was the only copy of the game I could find at stores when it launched. The "unique in game item" was a melon and some goggles. I always felt cheated by it. Threw all the art books in the trash when the game was sunset and vowed never to buy a CE again.

But I do get some enjoyment out of the pets, so I relented somewhere during WOD. And since most copies of the game are digital downloads, it's not the same as it was 15-20 years ago.

I think they should make all pets that are currently not obtainable as shop pets, or even better as in game event quests! The fact they are no longer obtainable leaves a noticable OCD hole in the pet journal.

They should also make people with duplicates of these pets able to sell them for big $$$ :)

Honestly, I'm so happy they did this and I hope it sells well so they bring back past collector's versions from Vanilla, BC, WoTLK, etc.

I know some stalwart collectors will be bitter, but it's ridiculous how expensive getting old collector's editions are and you can often be ripped off because someone will say the codes work but they don't.

IMO, this is a digital game and there should be nothing that you can never get again. It's not fun for someone to become a new collector and have 40+ pets they'll never be able to obtain for asinine reasons.

And I have several unobtainable pets - I'd be perfectly fine with others having access to them.

If they wanted to make more money why sell pets they previously said were exclusive to CE? Why not just sell another new pet for 10$ and all collectors would buy it. Now no one will buy the exclusive pet when it comes out for a premium price, they will just wait for a sale. This makes no sense.

And no, you can't sell extra CE pets, the code is bound to your account and the pets are not tradeable.
