Most Rare Pets Considering Recent Promotions?

Post by Shirrar » January 25th, 2025, 5:55 pm

Do you think pets like the 2005 blizzcon murky, mini tyrael and the vanilla CE zergling panda and diablo are more rare then the recent gill'el pet from the blizzard gear store thrall plushie or other recent promotions?

I noticed on this website's collecting stats page they seem to be however for example I also saw a lot of comments about how the thrall pet was quickly sold old or in limited supply and I am fairly sure the original vanilla CE had several tens of thousands of copies made by blizzard.

I think that for now pets from recent promotions are definitely not as rare as Murky or Mini-Tirael!
You can easily get Lil' Flameo and Razeshi B on eBay for like 100 USD. And Murky is like 25000 USD there - why, they ask 299 USD for a used card of Murky

Maybe in several years those promotions pets would be more rare - but I think that by then they could well re-appear at the Trading Post, and Murky or Mini-Tirael won't.

I think I remember reading that 75000 Vanilla CEs were produced.

dont say wont the prior blizzcon pets should all be available as a bundle during a digital blizzcon bundle and the mini tyrael should of been available for some kind of diablo promotion. i would personally like to see a digital deluxe act 6 expansion for d2r with the pet included it would sell a ton of copies. i am hoping all the rare prior promotion pets come back in one form blizzard does not make money from that ridiculous ebay listing

Honestly, as someone who has those rare promotion pets (except for Murky) I'd rather they didn't make them available. I like that players who have been playing for years get to have some rare things like that.

They should not re-introduce past rare items because what is the point of things being rare then?
If you want a rare item it is because it is rare so what is the point then if everyone suddenly gets them?

My original point was that I heard the thrall gill'el pet had very few made and sold out quick however I heard like 70000-80000 original vanilla collector editions were introduced. Of course the vanilla edition gave three pets. I was just surprised when I looked at the pet stats on this website to see gill'el being more owned than the vanilla edition pets.
