Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon

I am wanting a pet with Life Exchange after hearing how good it is, but I have trouble with choosing a decent breed out of those available.

Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
IMO "life exchange" is the best pet spell in the game! When used properly it can turn Any battle around! I solo almost every Beast of Fable pet with a Nether Faerie Dragon You don't even need a sunlight pet to go with it if you don't want! I wished the B.o.F. pets gave more exp then 200 actually, I'd be leveling 2 pets per fight instead of one if they did lol! Any Life exchange pet is effective it all depends what pet your up against as to which life exchange pet is best to use! If I remember correctly Nether Faerie Dragon is the strongest, Sprite Darter Hatchling is the fastest and Mini Mind Slayer is right in the middle! So get them all and use whichever attribute ya need the most !
Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
Actually Nether Faeire caps out at 325 speed. Sprite darter only reaches 309.
But really, im looking for help to figure out the most useful breed to level up. Im speculating speed perhaps to land life exchanges first.

Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
Well I am going by this pages calculator, and I have all 3 of those pets(Farmed rare versions) in my pet log, with Hundreds of battles with each! Again its my favorite spell I use them A Lot!
My pets are: Nether's speed is at 273(this page says 289 speed, FYI power is 305), and Mini Mindslayer is 289 speed(same as this pages speed, FYI 289 power), Sprite's speed is 309(same as this pages speed, FYI power is 276)! Just saying!

Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
u dont want life exchange to go first. let the pet hit u then u equalize the life. breed as per say wont matter regarding the effect of life exchange, but Id prefer a slow breed with more HP, at least regarding the BoF fights.

Now thats valuable feedback, thanks!
I ended choosing power/power.
Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
Surely higher HP lessens the effect of the life exchange? I have a P/P, not used them against the BoF so far, I prefer Predatory Strike, Trample, Glowing Toxin etc. Keeps it interesting!Bamboofarian wrote:u dont want life exchange to go first. let the pet hit u then u equalize the life. breed as per say wont matter regarding the effect of life exchange, but Id prefer a slow breed with more HP, at least regarding the BoF fights.

The opposite. If you use LE on an opponent with more health than you, it will hit them for (your max health) and heal you for the same amount.Gromagrim wrote:Surely higher HP lessens the effect of the life exchange?Bamboofarian wrote:u dont want life exchange to go first. let the pet hit u then u equalize the life. breed as per say wont matter regarding the effect of life exchange, but Id prefer a slow breed with more HP, at least regarding the BoF fights.
Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
if say you have 100 HP and they have 1000 HP, after Life Exchange you will both have the same amount, which'd be.. uh. 500ish? This one ability can keep your faerie dragon trucking even when it should have died, and can really rip the health off of high-HP mobs. It's especially good against the beasts of fable, even using it at FULL HP, you drag them down to where you are at, thus shortening the battle considerably.

Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
I have a H/P breed Nether Faerie Dragon at level 25 and have picked up a P/P breed that I plan to level as an alternative.
I don't always solo the beasts of fable with him... but even when he dies before the battle is over, he takes them down enough that I can usually finish them off with just one or two attacks.
Timing that first exchange life in these fights can be tricky. You want to have as little life as possible before hitting them with it and if I misjudge that, my pet can get killed, so I have to start the battle all over. After that first use, if it comes off cool down and my pet has less life than the one I am fighting, I use it again.

Re: Looking for oppinions on the Nether Faerie Dragon
Made an account just to clear up exactly how Life Exchange works, since there seems to be some confusion in this thread. The equation for the spell is:
opponent's current hp - your current hp / 2 = how much hp is taken from the opponent
So let's say you're using the spell for Beasts of Fable, you want a Nether Faerie Dragon breed with as little hp as possible, since the lower your current hp when you press the spell, the better. P/P and S/S both fit the bill in that regard, but personally I'd go with P/P since getting hit first (and thus lowering your current hp), will help Life Exchange even more.
Hope that helps

This would make sense, if we were planning to use life exchange on the first move and be done.Sbowesuk wrote:Made an account just to clear up exactly how Life Exchange works, since there seems to be some confusion in this thread. The equation for the spell is:

But we're not, for the Beasts of Fable at least.
The plan is to allow the opponent to drop our hp as low as we can afford first, then use Life Exchange. In which case, maximising HP allows us to maximise the healing we can recieve.
