I noticed some one posted something about the battle pets having a different "breed?"
I was not aware of that.
I assumed that one rare Emerald Proto-Whelp was the same as all the Emerald Proto-Whelps.
Is this not the case? And if not how do you know which one you have?

Re: Breed?
There's a great description of Pet Breeds right here on this site:

I wish I had looked at when I first started collecting, I have several leveled that I need to recapture for the ideal breed.

Re: Breed?
Aye. Took a while before I discovered breeds as well. Was quite a bummer to find out many of my rare pets was the poor B/B breed pets. Blizzard really dropped the ball on explaining breeds properly ingame.
Also, Breanni is aware that the guides on the site needs better advertisement, in particular the breeds one. Fairly unintuitively hidden in the tools dropdown menu. See so many pet battlers confused about it.

Re: Breed?
The Emerald Proto-Whelp has three breeds (p/p, p/s, p/b).

Re: Breed?
Its odd, and I know that B/B is supposed to be the "worst" breed, but I have found that (at least in wild pet, PVE battles), they sometimes seem to perform better than similar pets with H/S or H/H. I think this may be because they have more power. The B/B is not "special", but its not hopeless either.
Re: Breed?
The problem is that B/B have the lowest number of attribute points, compared to all other breeds.
