Not sure if this topic has been covered....but I am curious about this.
I am curious if anyone keeps multiples of the same pet?
IF so why do you do it?
I don't, I keep the best one, I don't have more than 1 of each of my pets...
is there a benefit if I did?

Re: More than one
one of each for me so I don't get confused. I am a simple minded soul. Now I wish i had kept some of the extras for gifts.
Re: More than one
I usually keep 1 of each pet but if another rare comes up for one i already have I'll trap it to compare it against my existing rare. If they are different I'll keep both.
Re: More than one
are they ever different? and how different?
Re: More than one
Some pets come in different colors. So there are a few collectors who want to collect one of each skin.

Re: More than one
A guildmate of mine had a team with three of the same pet because of his fondness for a particular ability (Chew). At the time, it was quite strong (although it's since then been nerfed), so I guess it's only natural to have multiple pets that can use it.
Feel free to browse through my pet collecting blog: http://wowpetaddiction.blogspot.com

Most mini pets have faternal twins out there, look almost alike but with different names. Bunnies, rats, squirrels, skunks, chickens and snakes leap to mind.A guildmate of mine had a team with three of the same pet because of his fondness for a particular ability (Chew)
I have thought of making a team of Cats. I just have to capture a rare snow cub and figure out which other ones I want to go after.

Pets of the same type/level/quality can differ in stat distribution. I don't know how many different stat sets there are for each pet, and there may be some pets with more or less stat distributions than others, but I've witnessed slight differences on quite a few pets.Temperama wrote:are they ever different? and how different?
Usually, when I see a difference, it's of the relationship: Pet 1 has More HP, less att/spd stats than Pet 2. If you have Pet 1 and Pet 2 and get a third pet, it will usually have the same stats of one of the pets you already have.
For example, from my armory, I have 2 rare level 17 rabbits:
Rabbit 1:
1028 HP, 164 Attack, 219 Speed
Rabbit 2:
1083 HP, 155 Attack, 219 Speed
So, depending on what you want, how you use your pet or your team composition, you may prefer one stat set over the other. That is also why you may want to keep two of the same pet if their stats differ.
Another example from my armory, level 7 rare Forest Spiderlings:
Forest Spiderling 1:
418 HP, 77 Attack, 96 Speed
Forest Spiderling 2:
437 HP, 81 Attack, 86 Speed

All of the pets that come in different colors, I have noticed that every time you summon them, their coloring will actually change. So it doesn't seem necessary to capture all the different colors of pets. I did this with a bunch of them before I noticed the color swapping lol.
