In approximately two weeks (no sooner than June 18), the titanically cute Guardian Cub will vanish from the Battle.net Shop and head into hiberation in the Blizzard Archive. If you’ve been thinking about adopting this in-game pet, now’s your chance before it's no longer available for purchase.

If anyone needs a guardian cub and lacks the funds I know i have one or 2 extra and can get more ...can negotiate an easy trade for you. This pet can normally be bought in game for 3-6k in many realms.

Something tells me theres going to be a lot of speculatants trying to make a buck of them now.

I can't see the prices staying sky high for long... even if it's only available for 2 more weeks there literally is an unlimited supply of them if people want to pay $10 each and stock up. Assuming most pet collectors already have it (because it was relatively cheap for a long time) I can't see it selling easily at prices like 47k, even after it's retired.

I bet they are discontinuing them because the cubs are a way for Blizzard to allow players to buy gold legally which they say they are against. By announcing this now they are counting on speculators buying tons of them to bank for future sale. After they remove it from sale, I just bet they will offer it in-game for very little gold to hurt the speculators. That way Blizz gets to stop gold sellers while making money over the next couple weeks.
